2G is a sampler instrument from Scrap Brain Audio inspired by early-2000s mobile phones. Its Neural Synthesis feature generates audio from text descriptions, after which samples can be trimmed, edited, tuned, and played from a keyboard. It analyzes timbre, volume, vibrato, and pitch to suggest loop points and correct detected tuning discrepancies, and provides controls for attack, release, brightness, detune, noise, quality, and formant. A physical model simulates the narrow frequency range and resonances of mobile-device speakers; its 16 kHz mono mode can be bypassed. 2G imports WAV, AIFF, FLAC, and MP3 files, which can be edited and played offline, while neural generation and credit verification require an internet connection. It is available as a VST3 or AU plug-in and as a standalone application for Windows and macOS.
