Aether is a cloud platform for running coding agents in isolated development environments, including Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode. Each task receives a separate Firecracker microVM that can be watched, steered, accessed over SSH, and used to verify code; the environment is destroyed after the pull request merges or closes, or after 48 hours of inactivity. Agents can work on repositories, open and review pull requests, stream terminal commands and diffs, capture screenshots and Playwright videos, and run in parallel as a fleet. Aether uses the model subscription or API account supplied by the user and charges for compute time rather than model usage. It also provides a REST API, a WebSocket API for live workspace events, and a CLI.

Runs coding agents on machines you don't own — one microVM per task, created when work starts and destroyed when finished. Tasks can now be driven from a client agent like Claude Code instead of the web UI, letting you rent cloud capacity for agent overflow.
