Apache Maka is a local-first, open-source AI agent workspace incubating at the Apache Software Foundation. Its Desktop, TUI, and CLI surfaces use a shared Runtime Host to inspect projects and run tools such as Read, Write, Edit, Bash, Glob, and Grep, with approval required for operations outside the sandbox. Sessions, model messages, tool calls, permission decisions, and run outcomes are stored locally in a durable execution record.
