blaze

blaze is an incremental Rust build tool from ix that provides a cargo-compatible command interface. It keeps compiled projects in memory, recompiles only functions changed since the previous build, and writes the resulting code into the existing program instead of linking everything again; opted-in programs can receive changes while running. It uses rust-analyzer analysis and MIR with Cranelift as a code generator, and supports live editing and hot reload. The project supports macOS on Apple silicon and Linux, is distributed under the MIT or Apache-2.0 licenses, and was called ra-jit until 2026-10-24; the cargo ra-jit command remains supported.
