ArtCraft

ArtCraft is a desktop IDE for interactive AI image and video creation, developed by Storytold. It lets artists compose in 2D, stage scenes in 3D, and select models for image, video, music, sound, 3D-mesh, and world generation. Its visual tools include 2D and 3D compositing, image-to-location scene planning, image-to-3D mesh conversion, character posing and identity transfer, kitbashing, background removal, canvas editing, masking, inpainting, prompted image editing, text-to-image generation, and image-to-video animation. The project supports integrations including ArtCraft's catalog, Grok, Midjourney, Sora, and World Labs, and is distributed through stable Windows and macOS releases; Linux users can build it from source.

FilmCraft is an open-source, non-linear video editor developed by the ArtCraft team and community as a clean-room reimplementation of the Adobe Premiere Pro workflow. It is written in pure Rust, with native applications for macOS, Windows and Linux and a WebAssembly version for browsers. The editor provides Premiere-like panels, workspaces, tools and shortcuts for editing, color, effects, audio, titles, captions, formats, export and interchange. Its engine uses integer-based time, a GPU compositor built on wgpu, linear-light compositing, a Rust DSP library, and native implementations of video, audio and container formats rather than bundling FFmpeg; FFmpeg is used externally for tests. It also exposes the same command system through the user interface, CLI, JSON control channel and MCP server, allowing agents to operate the editor. FilmCraft is in alpha. The project reports approximately 86% feature breadth relative to Premiere Pro and estimates that approximately 56% is ready for real work, while noting gaps including limited hardware acceleration, no direct Premiere project-file import, no plugin hosting and limited testing on real-world media. It is distributed for multiple desktop platforms, as a browser build, and under the MIT or Apache-2.0 license.

Sprite Studio is a local-first, open-source desktop AI workbench for creating, animating, testing, organizing, and exporting 2D game art. It combines prompt- and reference-based generation with pixel-scale review, sprite viewing, animation planning, loop testing, rigging, deterministic rendering, and PNG sprite-sheet export with metadata. For animation, the AI plans a complete motion sequence and generates frames sequentially using the source asset's identity and neighboring accepted frames. Its native Rust rig engine uses named joint, anchor, contact, and pivot points plus capsule bones; it assigns opaque pixels to bones, supports planted contacts through analytic two-bone inverse kinematics, and renders frames through bone transforms and nearest-neighbor inverse mapping without image generation. The resulting frames flow into asset organization, quality analysis, the playground, and exports. The application runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux and is built with Tauri, Svelte, Rust, SQLite, and an installed Codex CLI. It is designed for local-first use and does not target Android or iOS.

OpenPencil is an open-source, local-first design editor and Figma alternative developed as a programmable toolkit. It opens and writes native .fig files and supported .pen documents, supports components, variants, auto layout, CSS Grid, real-time peer-to-peer collaboration over WebRTC, and exports designs to formats including SVG, PDF, HTML, JSX, Tailwind JSX, Storybook stories, and .fig. Its built-in AI assistant uses more than 100 tools to create and modify design nodes, manage components and variables, analyze design tokens, and export assets. Users provide their own API key for supported providers such as OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google AI, DeepSeek, Z.ai, and MiniMax. A headless CLI can inspect document trees, query nodes with XPath, run Figma Plugin API JavaScript, lint and analyze files, convert formats, import HTML/CSS as editable layers, and control the running editor. An MCP server exposes design inspection, modification, and export tools to coding agents and other MCP clients, while a headless Vue SDK supports custom editing surfaces. OpenPencil runs as a Tauri desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux, as well as a browser PWA, and is available through Homebrew, downloadable releases, and the web app. The project is in active development and is licensed under the MIT License; its optional cloud server and administration components use the Apache License 2.0.

Design Studio AI is an open-source, agent-first design workspace for humans and AI agents. It supports web interfaces, slides, reports, wireframes, 3D scenes, and timeline videos; users start from a brief or template, inspect a preview, revise through chat or a manual editor, and work together on the same versioned document. The workspace provides structured flex/grid layouts, reusable design systems, 2D character motion, editable 3D scenes, BYOK text/image/speech/music/video generation, and exports including JSON, HTML, SVG, PNG, PDF, PowerPoint, WebM, GLB/glTF, React prototype ZIPs, and authorized Google Slides. It exposes REST, authenticated MCP, experimental WebMCP, and a CLI for agent access, and can run on Cloudflare or be self-hosted with Docker and persistent SQLite/files.
