ascii-reveal

ascii-reveal is a React loading and content-reveal library that makes text, images, videos, canvases, and cards decode through animated character grids while preserving their real DOM position and avoiding layout shift. Its AsciiReveal component draws the scramble and reveal on a canvas layer above the content; it supports loading transitions, selectable presets such as decode, dither, terminal, and blueprint, configurable wave origins and timing, lazy viewport reveals, mascots, replay controls, and reduced-motion fallbacks. AsciiSkeleton provides server-renderable HTML and CSS placeholders that paint before JavaScript, with optional canvas-based shimmer animation. A core API supports use without React. The repository reports a small, dependency-free distribution and is licensed under MIT.
