CheapSecurity

CheapSecurity is a lightweight, self-hosted CCTV application for Linux-based single-board computers such as Raspberry Pi and standard USB webcams. It provides a Flask web dashboard with live MJPEG streaming, frame-difference motion detection, pre-motion buffering, automatic recording, a recordings calendar, and storage cleanup based on age, total size, or low disk space.

Overview

The application can send motion snapshots by email and recordings or snapshots through Telegram, Google Drive, or OneDrive. It supports optional AES-256-encrypted ZIP uploads, software night-mode enhancement using CLAHE and brightness/contrast adjustment, an interactive REST API with Swagger UI, optional RTSP output through MediaMTX and FFmpeg, and systemd autostart. It requires Python 3.10 or newer and OpenCV with V4L2 support, and is licensed under GNU AGPLv3.
