Tool Open source
Desko is an open-source desk dashboard that turns a spare phone into an always-on display. A lightweight Python process on a PC collects data and pushes it over WebSocket to a browser tab on a phone on the same Wi-Fi network, with no phone app, account, cloud service, or build tooling required.
The dashboard cycles through five scenes: an idle view with clocks, weather, battery, latency, and PC uptime; a music view with album art, synchronized karaoke lyrics, and PC playback controls; a statistics view with CPU and GPU load and temperatures, memory, network activity, sparklines, and an optional running game; a development view with workspace, Git branch status, changed files, cursor position, commits, and lines, sourced from VS Code or Git; and a focus view with a server-side Pomodoro timer. Scenes can be manually selected or pinned, and widgets hide when their underlying data sources are unavailable.
