ChatDev is an open-source multi-agent framework from OpenBMB. Its original ChatDev 1.0 design models a virtual software company in which role-based agents such as a CEO, CTO, and programmer collaborate through specialized functional seminars to carry out software development tasks including design, coding, testing, and documentation. The current ChatDev 2.0, called DevAll, is a zero-code multi-agent orchestration platform. Users configure agents, workflows, and tasks to build and run customized multi-agent systems for scenarios such as software development, data visualization, 3D generation, and deep research.

Deft is a self-hostable, open-source workspace where people and AI agents share chat, tasks, knowledge, calendar context, approvals, and action history. Its core workflow captures discussions as durable knowledge, lets the Defty agent use workspace context to propose task details, and routes proposed agent actions through configurable approval and trust policies before recording the approved work and its receipts. It also provides real-time conversations, task views, notes, knowledge graphs, calendar features, personal MCP connections, agent employees, native workspace tools, scoped access, revocation, and provider-neutral support for hosted or local AI providers. Deft can run without an AI provider as a conventional workspace. The self-hosting path uses Docker and PostgreSQL with pgvector; the repository is an alpha intended for technical evaluation, internal use, and controlled pilots. It is licensed under AGPL-3.0-only.

Claude Code is Anthropic's agentic coding tool for the terminal, IDEs, and GitHub. It uses natural-language commands to understand a codebase, create and read files, execute commands, run tests, explain code, manage Git workflows, and handle routine development tasks. It can also load persistent project context, run custom slash commands, use plugins with custom commands and agents, and operate with configurable autonomy while leaving actions such as final pull-request merging to a human. The official repository documents installation for macOS, Linux, and Windows, and identifies npm installation as deprecated.

Kandev is an open-source, self-hostable AI Kanban and development environment for orchestrating coding agents and reviewing their work. It organizes tasks in Kanban and pipeline views, supports parallel execution and multi-step agentic workflows, and isolates concurrent work with Git worktrees. Its integrated workspace combines a file editor, file tree, terminal, browser preview, chat, and Git changes for reviewing and iterating on agent output. Agents can run through local, Docker, SSH, or cloud runtimes, with support for multiple agent providers; the project also provides configurable workflows, agent profiles, prompts, review gates, scheduled or webhook-triggered automations, and no telemetry.
