Douyin Downloader is an MIT-licensed Python downloader for Douyin videos, image posts, collections, music, live streams, comments, and profile content, with additional support for TikTok and YouTube in its Douzy desktop application. It parses platform links, selects preferred no-watermark and highest-bitrate media sources, supports profile and account-content batch modes, and uses configurable concurrency, retries, rate limiting, SQLite metadata, local-file checks, and integrity validation. A browser fallback handles restricted post pagination and manual CAPTCHA flows; the project also provides optional REST API serving, notifications, JSON metadata export, live-stream recording, and OpenAI-based video transcription. It runs on Python 3.8+ across macOS, Linux, and Windows, includes Docker deployment, and offers the desktop application in closed beta.
