ES|QL

ES|QL (Elasticsearch Query Language) is Elastic's piped query language for filtering, transforming, and analyzing data in Elasticsearch. Queries pass the output of one operation to the next, allowing pipelines such as reading from an index or data stream, sorting by a field, limiting results, aggregating, and performing time-series analysis. ES|QL can be used through Elasticsearch's _query REST endpoint and in Elastic interfaces including Kibana Discover, Dashboards, Dev Tools, Elastic Security, and Elastic Observability. The workshop also demonstrates its use for agentic retrieval, including parameterized queries, MCP tool calling, and inspection of search results and citations.
