Ethereum

Ethereum is an open-source, public blockchain platform (initially proposed by Vitalik Buterin and developed by the Ethereum Foundation and a global developer community) that executes smart contracts and hosts decentralized applications (dApps) using the native cryptocurrency Ether (ETH). The protocol runs as a permissionless network of node client implementations (e.g., Geth, Erigon, Besu, Nethermind, Lighthouse), provides the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) for contract execution, uses token standards such as ERC-20 and ERC-721, and after The Merge operates under proof-of-stake with ongoing roadmap work — including scalability (rollups/sharding), security, and topics such as quantum-resistance — specified via EIPs and community governance.

What Ethereum is used for

4 uses taken from transcripts — each links to the moment in the video.

  • Projekt blockchainowy, dla którego Vitalik Buterin przedstawił nowy roadmap. Ma on zwiększyć skalowalność i bezpieczeństwo Ethereum oraz zapewnić odporność na ataki kwantowe.

  • A decentralized smart-contract platform highlighted as one of the main networks where tokenization, including tokenized U.S. equities and stablecoins, is happening. The speaker personally favors Ethereum as a long-term investment.

  • A decentralized blockchain where liquidity and capital markets are concentrated. The video says Ethereum is positioned to win capital-markets and agentic-finance use cases and is seeing institutional adoption.

  • Altcoin Sheldon wants to accumulate. He has limit orders at roughly 2,472, 2,396 and 2,228, sees the first major target at 3,600–3,800 (then near 4,000), and warns of protecting positions just below 2K where the 200-day moving average sits.
