fec

fec is a Rust crate for forward error correction in software-defined radio, space, and satellite links. It implements convolutional codes with hard- and soft-decision Viterbi decoding, supporting configurable code rates and orders as well as erasures and punctured codes. It also implements Reed–Solomon codes over GF(2⁸), including error and erasure decoding and the standard CCSDS (255,223) code in conventional and on-the-wire dual-basis representations. A nightly-Rust SIMD feature provides SSE, AVX2, and AVX512 acceleration for Viterbi decoding. The crate draws inspiration from libcorrect and provides a C ABI compatible with existing libfec users.
