ff-tracking

ff-tracking is an MIT-licensed source project that renders a six-second motion graphic of a virtual camera filming an AI agent's terminal. Its pipeline draws a glyph-positioned terminal in an SVG first pass, exports tracker data, then applies a Skia Metal pass with one SkSL shader for perspective, depth of field, color processing, bloom, an LED grid, scanline tearing, grain, and camera motion. The tracker follows the newest characters, controls the focal plane and overlays, and supplies coordinates to the synthesized soundtrack, which adds hum, keystroke clicks, cut glitches, panned pentatonic lock beeps, and a final chime. The Rust workspace uses fframes, Skia, and FFmpeg; rendering requires macOS with Apple silicon, Rust, FFmpeg, and Python with NumPy and SciPy. An optional Slab-based soundtrack is provided, with Slab required only to re-render that score.

1 use taken from transcripts — each links to the moment in the video.

  • Source for a six-second motion graphic that makes an AI agent's terminal look like it's being filmed by a restless camera, with tracking, focus shifts and synthesized beeps all generated from code rather than recorded footage.
