AI product Open source
Gentle Dot is a personal AI assistant for macOS that stays available from the desktop, maintains one continuous conversation with long-term Engram memory, reads attached files, and can operate applications through screen-based clicking, typing, shortcuts, and app launches. Each computer-control session requires approval in a native dialog; risky actions require additional confirmation, and a panic shortcut can stop control. The desktop application uses Tauri 2 and a native helper, while a Node daemon runs the Gentle Shell agent engine and exposes its events to the desktop and browser interfaces over WebSockets. It supports voice input and spoken replies, configurable model accounts, MCP-based connectors, and a browser or Docker-hosted server interface. The project is an early preview with no published releases; the code is MIT-licensed and is built by Gentleman Programming on top of Gentle-AI.
