Overview

The app uses Together AI for LLM inference, with DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and Kimi K3 listed for language-model tasks. Exa provides optional web search, while LiteParse handles in-browser PDF parsing and Qwen on Together processes scanned pages. Optional Clerk authentication and Neon database syncing support a shared reading library.

What Gloss is used for

2 uses taken from transcripts — each links to the moment in the video.

  • Puts AI answers in the margin of what you're reading so a question about one confusing sentence doesn't send you to another chat window; in an article or PDF, select a paragraph and type your question, with answers pointing to paragraphs you can return to, your own notes alongside, and selections exported to Markdown for Obsidian.

  • A free open-source reader that saves articles, PDFs and X bookmarks into a personal library and writes AI answers in the margin: select any line, ask a question, and an open model on Together AI answers beside it, citing sources. It can also compare two passages, and parses tricky PDF pages cleanly.
