Helix Foundry

Helix Foundry is a local-first data workspace built on HelixDB and DuckDB. It connects databases, SaaS tools, REST APIs, object storage, and uploaded files, then proposes an ontology that links matching customers and records across those sources. The workspace stores immutable, versioned Parquet snapshots, profiles schemas and reviews schema drift, and queries the snapshots through isolated DuckDB processes. Its Home and Analyst views provide metrics and answer questions with the SQL executed and citations to the relevant snapshot. AI runs locally by default through Ollama, with Claude and OpenAI also supported; AI-proposed changes require review. The application runs on the user's computer without accounts or hosted infrastructure, and provides an OpenAPI interface, TypeScript SDK, scoped API tokens, and backup and restore scripts. It is distributed under the Apache License 2.0.

  • A local data workspace that connects scattered company tools like Postgres, Stripe, PostHog and S3, proposes one connected ontology across them, snapshots data as versioned parquet, and answers analyst questions with the SQL it actually ran, citing the snapshot.
