Helm is a Kubernetes package manager for creating, sharing, installing, and managing charts. A chart is a package of preconfigured Kubernetes resources containing a package description in Chart.yaml and one or more templates for Kubernetes manifests; charts can be stored locally or fetched from remote repositories.

Overview

Helm renders chart templates and communicates with the Kubernetes API to install and manage releases, and can run on a developer machine or in CI/CD. The videos also describe using Helm to package Crossplane compositions with little or no templating and distribute them as versioned OCI artifacts.
