Obsidian is a note-taking and personal knowledge management application by Obsidian.md that stores notes as local Markdown files. It provides features for linking notes (backlinks), a graph view, and a plugin system for extensibility across desktop and mobile.

md2hd is a local CLI that turns a Markdown file or folder of notes into an interactive relationship map in a browser. YAML front matter becomes nodes, while wikilinks and relationship entries become directed edges; an optional map block defines the map's title, types, and relationship inverses. The map supports searching, type-based views, node-focused navigation, degree-based relationship expansion, dragging and saving positions, and editing the source Markdown through a live code pane. It runs a local server bound to 127.0.0.1, reads changes from disk on refresh, and is described as requiring no account or telemetry. The package also includes a writing-md2hd-maps skill for coding agents that author or convert Markdown maps.

NoteDiscovery is a lightweight, self-hosted knowledge-base and note-taking application developed by Gamosoft. It stores notes as plain Markdown files in folders on the user's server and provides search, navigation, graph views of connected notes, an outline panel, favorites, themes, plugins, LaTeX/MathJax, HTML export, printing, responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile interfaces, and an in-app drawing editor that saves sketches as PNG files alongside notes. The application serves its browser libraries locally without requiring a CDN, allowing operation on air-gapped networks. It can be deployed with optional password authentication and Docker, and includes a built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for compatible assistants such as Claude and Cursor. Through the MCP integration, assistants can search, create, edit, move, tag, and append to notes and explore connections between them.

Human Review is a local visual review tool and agent skill for editing HTML and Markdown files, reviewing localhost pages, and sending feedback to an AI coding agent. It opens a file or URL in a browser, where users can edit text and basic formatting, rearrange or remove page elements, resize or paste images, and attach comments to exact phrases, images, charts, or sections. Direct HTML edits and image changes save automatically; Markdown and localhost reviews are sent to the agent, which applies the changes to the source and refreshes the page. The tool includes CLI commands for review sessions, polling, status, and setup, plus a local server, editing and feedback SDK, browser client, Markdown renderer, and instructions for agent harnesses such as Claude Code and Codex. It runs on the user's computer without an account, cloud service, database, or API key.
