Mac Duo is a native Swift and Metal macOS app that makes desktop effects follow the position of a MacBook lid. It provides six transitions—Duo, Ghost, Roll, Shutter, Flex, and Iris—that animate the desktop around the hinge, including panel sliding, display curling, bowing, or iris-like closure. The app includes live preview, floating controls, menu-bar access, pause controls, and an option to clear the screen after the lid remains still. It runs locally without third-party runtime dependencies, accounts, analytics, or screen-content uploads; screen frames remain in memory when Screen Recording permission is enabled. It supports macOS 13 Ventura or newer on compatible Apple-silicon MacBooks, with an Intel preview for the 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro, and is distributed under the MIT license.
