Magic Cloud

Magic Cloud is an open-source, self-hosted full-stack application builder and AI-agent platform. Its API Wizard connects to databases such as SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQL Server and generates secured REST APIs with authentication, role-based access control, CRUD operations, and business logic; endpoints can then be extended from plain-English descriptions without a separate build or deployment step. It can also generate database-backed applications, wrap APIs described by OpenAPI or Swagger specifications, run scheduled Hyperlambda jobs, and expose endpoints as MCP tools for clients such as Claude, Cursor, and Codex.

Overview

The runtime uses Hyperlambda, a compiled .NET execution environment. The project says its generator produces an abstract syntax tree rather than unrestricted function-call text, allowing generated invocations to be checked against available functions, while sandboxing and RBAC restrict execution. Magic Cloud is self-hostable, distributed under the MIT license, and is developed in the polterguy/magic repository.

  • A self-hosted application builder that also generates its backend. It creates authenticated REST endpoints from databases such as SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQL Server, lets users extend endpoints in plain English, and can expose them as MCP tools.
