Mima

Mima is a local-first Mac app that combines Bluesky, X, LinkedIn, and Mastodon into a chronological feed, universal inbox, and composer for cross-network posting, reposting, and replies. It retrieves content directly from users’ social accounts without Mima servers storing users’ content or messages, keeps credentials on the user’s computer, and supports mentions, direct messages, pins, and reminders. Mima works without AI. Its optional AI features include an on-device small language model, with the built-in Llama 3.2 3B model operating locally and offline for tasks such as thread summarization and content moderation. Users can instead provide their own OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google API key, in which case content is shared with that provider. AI-generated content is displayed in a distinct style, and the app is free for Apple Silicon Macs.
