OpenAI Codex is a coding agent from OpenAI available as a command-line tool (Codex CLI). The videos use it alongside Gemini for adversarial audits of software requirements and implementation plans, and list it as a supported coding-agent or model option in several projects. Its logs can be joined with task and test evidence, and the Codex CLI can receive and answer requests from the Penako canvas.

Codex Router is an independent community project that routes external AI models into the Codex app and CLI, adding providers such as Kimi, DeepSeek, Anthropic, xAI, and GitHub Copilot alongside native models. It provides guided provider authentication, keeps credentials on the local computer, and supports safe migration and rollback of recognized older setups. The project includes a command-line installer and setup flow, an Electron Control Center, a tray or menu-bar application, and a macOS desktop widget; one installation can also serve DeepSeek Harness and Gemini CLI. It supports macOS, Linux, and Windows, and is not affiliated with OpenAI or the other referenced model and platform providers.

OpenCode is an open-source AI coding agent developed by anomalyco. It is used as a terminal-based coding agent and external coding harness, with a beta desktop application also available. The CLI includes a full-access build agent for development work and a read-only plan agent for code analysis and exploration; the plan agent denies file edits by default and asks permission before running shell commands. OpenCode also provides a general subagent for complex searches and multistep tasks, and can be installed through its shell installer, package managers, or platform-specific desktop packages.
