OverlayBD

AgentENV (AENV) is an open-source distributed platform developed by kvcache-ai for running agent environments at scale, including environments used for agentic reinforcement-learning training such as Kimi K3. It runs Firecracker microVM sandboxes across machines, loads OCI-compatible images on demand through overlaybd, and uses local disks as bounded caches for image and snapshot data. The aggregate image and snapshot footprint can exceed local disk capacity because cold data is evicted from the cache. Snapshot-backed environments can boot or resume in under 50 ms and pause in under 100 ms. AENV incrementally snapshots memory and filesystem changes, stores snapshots in S3-compatible object storage or a shared distributed filesystem, and can fork a running environment into independent sandboxes for parallel workflows. It uses ublk for I/O and memory ballooning to return reclaimable guest memory to hosts; the documentation reports a 9.6× memory overcommit ratio in production. The distribution includes an AENV server and the `aenv` command-line client for pulling OCI images as templates, starting, attaching to, executing commands in, pausing, resuming, and deleting sandboxes. It exposes an E2B-compatible HTTP API that works with the standard E2B Python and TypeScript SDKs. It requires Linux kernel 6.8 or later and `/dev/kvm` access for Firecracker execution. API requests are authenticated, but traffic is not encrypted; the documentation recommends a trusted network or HTTPS termination at a reverse proxy or load balancer.

withoutBG is a Python SDK and command-line tool for removing image backgrounds locally or through a cloud API. Its local mode runs open-weight CPU ONNX models on the user's machine, downloading the model weights once; processing then works offline without an API key or GPU. The same API supports single-image and batch processing, progress callbacks, and returns transparent RGBA PIL Images. The package also provides a cloud mode through the withoutBG API and can be installed with uv or pip.

BG0 is an open-source background-removal tool that runs locally in the browser and produces transparent PNGs without uploading source images. It uses WebGPU when available and falls back to WebAssembly, downloading and locally caching a pinned BiRefNet ONNX model selected for the available hardware. The project includes the BG0 web application and the @bg0/browser library, which handles capability detection, model loading and caching, preprocessing, ONNX inference, mask postprocessing, alpha compositing, progress reporting, cancellation, and errors. It requires no account, API key, backend, server inference, billing, usage limit, or analytics transmission of image contents or metadata. The source is licensed under Apache License 2.0; model weights retain the licenses listed in the repository's third-party notices.

Blaxel is an infrastructure platform for autonomous AI agents that provides isolated microVMs (which boot in milliseconds and resume in ~25ms), persistent shared memory, and programmable networking to run, connect, and operate agents at scale. It offers a distributed shared-storage feature (presented in videos as "Agent Drive") that can be mounted as a POSIX-style drive so agents in separate sandboxes can share files, cache dependencies, exchange context/memory, and coordinate parallel work in real time.

Bindwidth is a browser-based calculator for sizing on-premises LLM inference infrastructure and estimating total cost of ownership. It evaluates three constraints for a resident text model—KV-cache memory, combined prefill and decode serving capacity, and the runtime session ceiling—and identifies which constraint binds for a workload. The tool accounts for interactive users and autonomous agents as different load types, then compares owned hardware, eligible sovereign rentals, and enterprise subscriptions with per-token APIs for agents. It distinguishes measured from estimated hardware and model data through confidence levels and profile-specific overrides, flags domain and model-capability limits, and exports a decision record as Markdown or the full scenario as JSON. The repository describes it as a directional sensitivity estimator rather than a procurement quote. It is a frontend-only application with no build step, server, database, account, or telemetry; calculations run in the browser and entered data is not transmitted.
