Personal Drive is a self-hosted alternative to Google Drive and Dropbox for storing, browsing, previewing, and sharing files from a server under the operator's control. It supports recursive uploads of files and folders, drag-and-drop, indexed files, thumbnails, mobile-responsive layouts, text and Markdown editing, and browser previews or playback for images, video, audio, HTML, text, PDFs, and slideshows. Audiobook playback can save the current position and provide rewind controls.
Files can be shared through password-protected links, expiration dates, custom URLs, or direct downloads, with a control panel for pausing and deleting shares. The application also provides favorites, sorting, folder navigation, duplicate detection, upload progress and cancellation, optional unauthenticated access, reverse-proxy configuration, and TOTP-based two-factor authentication. Upload protection can create client-side AES-256-encrypted ZIP files.
The project is built with Laravel 11, React, Inertia.js, PHP, and SQLite. It can be installed using Docker or a guided setup script and requires a PHP web server, SQLite, Composer, Node.js, npm, and writable application directories.

A Google Drive-style place for files on a server you control: drag in files or whole folders, browse them from your phone, and share links with passwords or expiration dates. It previews PDFs, text, photos, and video in the browser, remembers where you stopped in an audiobook, and offers two-factor authentication.
