PS2 Web Recomp

PS2 Web Recomp is an open-source project for running PlayStation 2 games in a browser through static recompilation. It analyzes a game's Emotion Engine executable, translates its machine code into C++, and compiles the result to WebAssembly so the main CPU is not interpreted. A runtime emulates the remaining console hardware and operating-system behavior, including the I/O processor, vector units, SPU2 audio, MPEG-2 movies, memory cards, and the Graphics Synthesizer; the graphics renderer uses WebGPU compute shaders, with a software rasterizer as a reference. The porting scripts accept an ISO or an archive containing one, iteratively discover code reached through indirect control flow, compile uploaded vector-unit microprograms, and produce a browser page and optional native runner. The repository currently documents ports of Gran Turismo 4 and God of War II, but includes no game data; users supply disc images of games they own. It requires a cross-origin-isolated server for the browser build and is licensed under the MIT License, with a retained BSD 2-Clause notice for adapted MPEG-decoder tables.
