Rubix is an experimental systems programming language whose compiler is written entirely in GNU x86-64 assembly. It compiles `.ix` source files through a lexer, recursive-descent/Pratt-style parser, symbol table, and native code generator that emits x86-64 assembly, which is assembled and linked into standalone executables. The language includes typed integers, booleans, characters and double-precision floats, functions, structs, loops, dynamic arrays, modules, embedded file/string/math routines, overflow traps, and DWARF debug information.
The generated runtime avoids libc, C, LLVM and virtual machines. It uses direct Linux system calls for ELF64 binaries and includes a Windows PE64 target with a dynamic kernel32 resolver; the repository also describes multi-OS runtime dispatch. The project provides the `rubixc` compiler driver, examples, a test suite, and a bootstrap compiler prototype. It is free and open source under the MIT License.
