Shop Pay

PayPal's agentic commerce services help merchants create AI-powered shopping experiences in which customers use everyday language to discover products, manage carts, and complete purchases across online stores and AI platforms. The services include Agent Ready, which lets merchants accept payments through AI assistants using existing PayPal tools, and Store Sync, which connects product catalogs and cart operations to AI shopping assistants and existing order-management systems. PayPal also describes catalog enrichment as a way to make merchant product data more suitable for agent discovery and recommendations; its experiments found that targeted enrichment helped, while unstructured boilerplate could dilute the signal and increase hallucinations. Merchants can connect product listings through PayPal partners and use one integration to reach multiple AI shopping platforms. Access requires submitting a form to PayPal's AI team, which then guides onboarding.

Shopify is an all-in-one commerce platform for building and operating online stores. It provides ecommerce software for managing products and product information, storefronts, checkout, and merchant operations, and can serve as an owned direct-to-consumer sales channel that retains customer relationships, email lists, and business data. The platform is also used in workflows involving product-image sourcing, marketing campaigns, advertising, and integrations with services such as Post Pilot and Reddit advertising.

PayPal Enterprise Payments, formerly Braintree, provides tokenization and payment processing for transactions initiated by AI agents. Merchants receive constrained payment tokens and continue using standard charging, settlement, refund, chargeback, risk, and compliance workflows; the tokens can be limited by merchant, amount, currency, and expiry so card details remain outside the agent and the merchant's PCI scope. The service supports agentic-commerce integrations including Instant Checkout in ChatGPT through the Agentic Commerce Protocol, Google AI Mode through the Universal Commerce Protocol and Google Pay, and MCP apps that either provide an in-agent checkout interface or hand off to an external checkout page.

Buy for Me is Amazon's AI shopping agent. When a requested item is unavailable on Amazon, it visits another brand's website, selects the product, and fills in the customer's name, address, and payment information to complete checkout. It is presented as part of the shift toward AI-assisted product discovery and purchasing outside Amazon's own marketplace.
