Surfer

Keyword Surfer is a browser extension by Surfer that displays keyword search volumes, related keywords, and estimated CPC directly in Google search results to support keyword research and on-the-fly SEO analysis. It is offered by Surfer (formerly Surfer SEO).

Semrush is a marketing and brand-visibility platform for SEO, AI search, PPC, social media, market research, and local SEO. It provides keyword research, competitor and market analysis, backlink analysis, rank tracking, technical site audits, traffic and market data, content creation tools, and marketing reports. The platform also tracks brand visibility in AI-generated answers and can connect Semrush data to AI assistants through Semrush MCP and its API.

OpenSEO is an open-source SEO tool developed as a self-hostable alternative to Semrush and Ahrefs. It provides workflows for keyword research, rank tracking, competitor insights, backlink analysis, site audits, and AI visibility, using a DataForSEO API key for the underlying SEO data. The project exposes an MCP server and reusable agent skills that let agents such as Claude Code, OpenClaw, and Hermes access SEO data and perform guided SEO tasks. It can be self-hosted with Docker for personal use or Cloudflare for internet-facing use across devices or teams; a hosted version is also available, with pricing described as pay-as-you-go for API usage and a subscription option.

CrawlSEO is an open-source, self-hosted SEO monitoring dashboard for founders. It combines Google Search Console analytics for keywords, pages, clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and position changes with 28-day comparisons; a concurrent site crawler that handles up to 2,000 pages, assigns a health score, identifies 16 issue types, scores content, and provides per-page audit and remediation data; Core Web Vitals monitoring through PageSpeed Insights; historical rank tracking; SEO opportunity detection; alerts; and CSV export. Optional keyword research and backlink analysis use DataForSEO with a bring-your-own-key setup, while Google Autocomplete provides a free fallback for keyword suggestions. The included Model Context Protocol server exposes 10 tools for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Cursor. Connected AI agents can query SEO data, run crawls, inspect crawl issues and performance, and find opportunities. The application is built with Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Prisma, and NextAuth.js, and is distributed under the MIT license for local or Docker Compose deployment with Google OAuth and a database. It is described as free and open source, with self-hosting intended to keep site data under the operator's control.

Keyword Pro is a standalone, local-first keyword research console developed as an independent open-source project. It uses the user's own DataForSEO credentials rather than a hosted account, signup, or subscription system, and stores research sessions in a local database. Its guided report can make up to 19 keyword-research calls covering search volume, CPC, difficulty, intent, trends, SERP competitors, and related terms. The application supports 94 markets and 46 languages, validates country-language combinations, skips unsupported paid calls, and provides an advanced mode with 332 keyword-oriented DataForSEO endpoint definitions. It displays estimated costs before paid runs, saves completed reports for later reopening without another API call, and exports results as PDF, CSV, and JSON. The application runs locally with Node.js, pnpm, OpenSSL, and Podman or Docker, binding to 127.0.0.1 by default for a single local user. DataForSEO credentials stored by the application are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The project is distributed under the Apache License 2.0.
