Token Saver is a local Claude Desktop extension developed at Marktechpost AI Media Inc. It searches PDFs stored on the user's computer using local hybrid retrieval—BM25 and embedding search—then sends Claude only the passages relevant to a question, with exact page citations, instead of placing the entire document in the context window. The extension is distributed as a one-click .mcpb file and bundles its search engine, requiring no Python, terminal, or configuration files; documents remain on the local machine. It also supports document-folder selection, document listing, disambiguation when multiple files match, and reusing a loaded document for follow-up questions.
