Try Omarchy for Windows

Try Omarchy is a macOS application that runs the upstream Omarchy desktop on Apple Silicon Macs without manual setup. It packages a project-built ARM64 Arch Linux image configured with Omarchy Quattro, a QEMU runtime using Apple's Hypervisor Framework, and a Swift/AppKit launcher. The guest image is built from pinned Arch Linux ARM packages and a pinned Omarchy source revision, with temporary fixes recorded by hash in the guest build specification. The application provides hardware-accelerated ARM64 virtualization and VirGL graphics, a resizable native window with automatic guest-resolution and HiDPI updates, Mac audio input and output selection, two-way clipboard sharing for text and PNG images, one optional shared Mac folder, and loopback-only TCP and UDP port forwarding from macOS into Omarchy. It is distributed as a signed and notarized DMG, and the first launch provisions the Linux account and guest environment. Video decoding is currently CPU-only, which can make high-resolution playback slow. Try Omarchy is not official or affiliated with Omarchy.

Omarchy is an opinionated Arch Linux-based desktop distribution and ready-to-use Linux setup by DHH. It provides a preconfigured, terminal-oriented desktop with a tiling workflow and includes applications and tools such as Neovim, Chromium, Obsidian, LibreOffice, Kdenlive, and OBS Studio. Its documentation covers navigation, themes, hotkeys, clipboard history, text extraction and dictation, screenshots and recording, the Omarchy CLI, development and shell tools, browsers, gaming, configuration, updates, hardware, networking, troubleshooting, and installation options. The project is released under the MIT License.

Omakade is a local-first Linux game library for Omarchy, developed as an independent community project. It discovers games from installed Steam, Lutris, Heroic, Faugus, RetroArch, Epic, GOG, and Amazon sources, then presents them in a cover-focused library without modifying launcher data. Games are launched through their owning platform, while discovery, browsing, artwork, local Steam achievements, search, favorites, collections, tags, completion states, source filters, and controller navigation work offline. Optional Steam Web API synchronization adds public owned games and ready-to-install views, and optional IGDB credentials provide critic aggregates and game-length estimates. It is distributed for Omarchy and Arch as a package and stores its library in a local SQLite database.

omasnap is a native Wayland screenshot and annotation editor for Omarchy and Hyprland. It captures freeform regions, windows, or full monitors by first recording the focused monitor before mapping its exclusive layer-shell editor, preserving native pixels on scaled displays. Window captures are crops of that monitor frame, so overlapping windows remain visible. The editor stores annotations as movable and resizable vector layers. It supports arrows, lines, freehand and highlighter strokes, rectangles, ellipses, numbered markers, editable text, redaction, colors, undo and redo, canvas growth and recropping, cut-band removal, mesh-gradient or window-style backdrops, and drop shadows. It can perform whole-image or region OCR, display the recognized text beside the image, copy it to the clipboard, open clipboard images, and pin finished captures as always-on-top surfaces across workspaces. Working documents use a source image and sidecar JSON operation log under the user runtime directory, allowing undo after a crash or file reopen. Saving and copying produce flattened PNG files or clipboard output, with screenshots stored under ~/Pictures/Screenshots by default; a recents shelf retains the last five captures with their editable layers.

Highball is a native macOS app and CLI for running Windows games on Apple Silicon. It assembles Wine engines from pinned upstream builds, sets up bottles, and supports renderer overlays for WineD3D, DXMT, D3DMetal, and DXVK; it can install Steam, connect an Epic library through Legendary, and switch renderers per bottle or launch. Its compatibility database records verified runs, per-game renderer verdicts, community reports, machine-derived predictions, provenance, and kernel-anti-cheat blocklist entries. Declarative JSON recipes describe installer, registry, Winetricks, synchronization, renderer, version-pinning, and note steps applied to bottles, while the CLI can submit game results to the open database. Highball requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later. The app and CLI are licensed under GPL-3.0, while the recipes and compatibility database are CC0; D3DMetal is downloaded separately after acceptance of Apple's Game Porting Toolkit license. The project documents limitations with several Chromium-based launchers, Rockstar, Ubisoft Connect, GOG Galaxy, Battle.net, and the EA app.
