Vite is frontend tooling for modern web projects, developed in the vitejs organization. It combines a development server that extends native ES modules with fast Hot Module Replacement and a build command that bundles code with Rolldown into optimized static assets for production. It provides a JavaScript and plugin API with full typing support, and is distributed under the MIT license.

Vistep is an interactive educational visualization site for explaining mechanisms in science, computation, and everyday systems through bilingual English-and-Chinese visual stories. Vitess is an open-source, cloud-native database system that provides a MySQL-compatible interface while extending MySQL for larger-scale deployments. Its built-in sharding routes application queries across shards without requiring sharding logic in the application; the video identifies VTGate as the intelligent proxy that parses MySQL queries and sends them to the appropriate shard, with sharding plans specified in a JSON VSchema file. Vitess also provides query rewriting, caching, connection pooling, materialized views, cross-shard messaging, live resharding, background schema changes, and automatic detection and repair of primary failures.
