Acquire free or discarded appliances, diagnose their faults, replace inexpensive failed parts, clean and test them, then sell them locally for immediate cash. Listing the appliance before the repair is complete tests demand while the repair is underway.
Repair discarded washers and dryers, then rent them locally with delivery, installation, and maintenance. The same appliance can generate recurring revenue from one household and later be rented to another household after it is returned.

00:00 Someone's giving this away for free. This is Kyler. He's the appliance repair guru and he makes over $10,000 a month with used, ugly, unloved, thrown away appliances. >> Tens of thousands of appliances are thrown to the curb every single day. >> What? >> What I like to call the infinite money glitch. >> And by the end of this video, it's going to be worth $1,080.
00:19 Exactly. So, my buddy Kyler finds free washers and dryers here in Utah and then he sells them for 200 to a,000 bucks plus. And I flew here to Utah to ask him, "How do you do it? How can I show YouTube how to do exactly this? It's not as hard as you might think." So, Kyler found a $300 a month garage to rent on Facebook Marketplace cuz he can't afford anything nicer.
00:46 It's fine. And we're driving to that garage right now cuz he's got some tools, a screwdriver. Crazy thing is Kyler is only 24 years old and he makes over $10,000 a month with used, ugly, unloved, thrown away appliances. He's not technical. He didn't go to appliance repair school. He knows how to order from Amazon and watch YouTube videos. And that's really all it takes.
01:06 >> The craziest part is that a lot of these appliances that are getting thrown to the side of the road every single day are way nicer than the appliances that are sold in Lowe's. There is no reason you should throw out your dryer for $5 when you can just repair it with a simple fix. >> We have no idea what's wrong with this dryer. I'm hoping that it's pretty good, but it might have quite a few things wrong.
01:25 So, we're about to go to the shop. Kyler's going to show me how to open it up, how to find parts, and uh we're going to turn this into $1,080 by the end of today. We're going to show you exactly how to do it. Okay, so this is Kyler. He's the appliance repair guru. He is professionally trained from YouTube University. >> Yes. >> And Amazon.com. The parts supplier that you use.
01:55 >> Correct. >> Okay. >> The very first step is this has no power. So, we can't figure out what's wrong with it until we have power to it. So, we need to put a a cord on it. >> How much does this cost? >> This is about $5. >> And where'd you get it? >> Uh, Amazon.com. >> Never heard of it. >> You're going to take out these three bolts and you're going to go left, middle, right.
02:10 Really, the only important thing is that this middle strand goes to the middle. It doesn't really matter if the right one goes on the left. >> All right. And now one at a time, you're going to put the cord through this thing. >> Oh, through this? >> Yep. >> All right. >> All righty. Perfect. Cord is on. So, the next step is we're going to plug it in.
02:25 All right. Now, you're going to come to the front. You're going to set this to time dry, which it already is. And then, >> moment of truth. >> We're scammed. >> Fetch. >> I will never financially recover from this. >> The good news is, Chris, a dryer not turning on is actually a very easy fix. Even someone like you can do. >> Even an idiot. >> To work on anything that has to do with it not turning on or heating, you're going to take off the back panel.
02:44 And there's nine screws. Perfect. Then you're going to remove that back panel. At this point, we can test all of the different components. Really, the only tool you need right now is a multimeter. This part right here is called the thermal fuse. And basically, this thing shuts off when the dryer gets too hot, so it doesn't catch on fire, doesn't overheat, and when this trips, it doesn't ever untrip, and it causes the motor to not run.
03:10 So, this is most likely the issue. The way you're going to test it is you're going to take one of those blue wires off of the thing. Yep. Now, you're going to take the leads of that multimeter and you're going to put one right here and one right here. And we're listening to a beep. If it beeps, it's good. And I have no idea what's wrong. If it doesn't beep, we need a new one.
03:27 Okay. So, there's no beep. That part is bad. So, this kit is $20 off of Amazon. The nice thing is it comes with the heating element, which is a very common failure. And then it comes with all of these parts. And the first part we're going to change is this thermal fuse. And just to show you what a good thermal fuse is, now you can test that one. And it should make a beeping sound.
03:48 >> Okay. So, that one's good. That one's bad. Take the other blue lead off of it. Pinch and pull. >> Put the new one in. >> How long did it take you to learn all this? >> Honestly, it's very, very easy. And YouTube has a lot of resources. You can, anyone can learn this. Replug it in and see if we fixed anything. >> Moment of truth. >> All right. So, let's see if it's spinning.
04:07 Believe it or not, just because you're watching this doesn't mean you're subscribed to my channel. YouTube's going to show you stuff even if you're not subscribed to it. Over half of people that watch my videos are not subscribed. It would mean the world to me if you just hit subscribe. Thank you so much. >> Not spinning. >> So, the motor's on and it's not spinning.
04:24 That is another easy fix. It's most likely a broken belt. >> Okay, >> getting into this dryer. Super easy. All you're going to do is take out the lint trap. Then you're going to take out those two screws. And that is all that's holding this lid together. There you go. And now you are into the the belly of the beast. Look at all that lint. Okay, we were right.
04:44 The belt is broken. There's no belt. There should be a belt right here. >> Take out the drum. >> What? >> Sheesh. >> Okay. >> Looks like we got a cute little swimsuit. >> That kind of a party. >> Okay. >> All righty. So, now that we have it opened up, we can see two things. A, we have a broken belt. Is this common? >> This is very common. Yeah. >> What does this cost?
05:08 >> This is $5. >> Okay. >> Yep. It's like $10 on Amazon. You can find it for $5 on other on other places, though. Okay. These are the roller wheels that what makes it spin and makes it quiet. So, this one is not spinning very well. It should be spinning very freely. And this one, the bearing is completely broken. So, they probably threw it out a cuz it wasn't working.
05:28 And if it was working, it was freaking loud. So, we need to replace the belt and the roller wheels. And we also need to clean all the lint because all this lint buildup is going to cause the dryer to overheat, not work as well, get clogged in the roller wheels. So that is the next thing to do. >> You're just going to pull this bad boy out. >> So yeah, you can clean that.
05:45 We normally use a vacuum for that, but your hand is very, very effective. Chris, >> what do these cost? >> These guys, everything's like a $5 part. That's what I love about these dryers. Super, super easy. There's a plastic triangle ring. You're going to grab it and uh break it off. >> Just break this. >> Yep. Just break that off. Okay. Now, there's another plastic triangle on this side.
06:07 You got to break that one, too. >> Perfect. And you can take take that thing and JUST >> BOOM. >> OKAY, that's perfect. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Perfect. >> Oh. Oh, we're rich. >> More money. Okay. The next step is Can you Will you get the drum? Take the the door behind you. Okay. Now, let it drop onto the Okay. Now, you're going to plug this back in.
06:32 All right, pop this back up. >> At this point, we should have a somewhat functional dryer. >> Oh, moment of truth. IT'S SPINNING. Look at that. >> All right, Chris, do you feel any heat in there or no? Or is it still kind of cold? >> It's cold. >> All right, that means we got we got to check one more thing. So, the motor's running, the drum's turning, it's quiet.
06:58 Very quiet. So, now we got to check the heating element. So, this is the heating element. You're gonna unplug this red one. You're going to put one terminal over here and one over here. And we're looking for that same thing. If it beeps, it's good. If it doesn't beep, it's bad. >> No beep. >> No beep. Okay, it's bad. So, the way a heating element works is it's just a circuit.
07:18 So, it goes from this side of the the terminal to the other side with a continuous thing of wires. If it's broken, like it is right here, then there's no way for the current to flow through the heating element. It will never heat up ever. >> What did this cost again? >> The whole entire kit was $20. This individual piece is like 15. We changed the thermal fuse and the heating element.
07:40 And we have all those extra parts for 20. >> Wow. All right. Moment of truth. All right. I can smell the heat. >> Okay. It's glowing red. >> All right. So, we're good. >> So, if you feel down here, it's blowing super hot air. It'll dry the clothes quick. The very last thing I would recommend is just turn it off. Just take a quick vacuum to the the back.
08:02 You don't want any of these components to have lint on them. Okay. So, we are going to put the back panel back on. Done. >> All right. So, you had like uh some sort of framework for this. What's it called? >> We call it the PFS. We post, we fix it, and then we sell it. Cuz I'm so confident you're going to be able to fix this, we're just going to list it right now.
08:28 I mean, if you think about it, like if we take five minutes to list this and it never sells, then we waste five minutes. But if we take five minutes to list this and it sells faster, then we save an hour >> for sure. >> So, it's like heads we win, tails we win. >> And sometimes by the time we're done fixing it, we already have a client. >> Ooh. Okay.
08:44 I want you to do something right now. Open your bank statement and add up every single software subscription that you're paying for. your CRM, your email marketing tool, text message platform, calendar booking app, funnel builder, review management, even a separate form builder or automation tool. I've talked to business owners paying $500 to $3,000 a month across eight or 10 different tools and half of them don't even talk to each other.
09:07 So then they go pay for Zapier on top of that just to make things connect. High Level replaces all of it. CRM, email, SMS, funnels, websites, calendars, automations, reputation management, invoicing, one login, one dashboard, one bill starting at 97 bucks a month. A guy in my community was paying 3.47 just for ClickFunnels, 99 for Mailchimp, 25 for Kell, 79 for a review tool, and 49 bucks for Zapier just to glue it all together.
09:32 That's 600 a month if you're not counting. He moved everything to high level and cut his software cost by over 80%. But the best part isn't even the savings. It's that everything just works together natively. A lead fills out a form on your funnel that creates a contact in your CRM, which triggers a text and email sequence, books an appointment on your calendar, and then ask for a review when the job's done.
09:52 One workflow, zero duct tape, and then you can white label the whole platform to resell it to other businesses as your own software. Charge them 2 to 500 bucks a month. Check out gohighle.com/tkopod. They'll give you a 30-day free trial to see what I mean. All right, so we're going to go to marketplace. We'll go to sell, create listing. Okay, so we've got pics, but you're telling me it still looks like crap.
10:14 There's no cable in the back. So, how do we use chat GPT here? >> All you're going to do is put in the dirty pics into chat GPT and then ask it to clean it up a little bit. >> Okay, so chat GPToom. We're going to get all these pictures. Now, the units are dirty. There's no cable on the back, which we're going to fix, right? >> Yeah. So, I'm going to say make this look clean.
10:39 Okay, make this look clean. Keep the lighting and background the same. Add a cable to the back of it. >> That's perfect. It'll take a couple of minutes for chat to do that and then we can post that onto Facebook Marketplace. >> Okay. Post, fix, sell. >> Exactly. >> Okay. Okay. So, we're going to Facebook. We're going to go to create listing one item lead with our best.
11:01 What should the title be? >> Um I would say electric dryer and then I would do the little star asterk thingy and I would say works perfectly and then I would close it the with another asterisk. That's the money title right there. >> That's it. >> Yeah, >> that's the secret sauce. All right. Used good. >> I would do used good. Yep. >> Okay. price. >> So, with the pricing, this that dryer, that exact dryer would sell in a used appliance store for anywhere between 175 and 200.
11:32 So, you could sell it for that. If you wanted to wait a week or two, if you want to sell it the same day, I would price it more aggressively in the 140 to 150 range. >> That's normally what I do cuz I I do high volume, a little bit lower price. >> 150. I'm still curious how we're going to get this to $1,80, but we'll get there. Uh description. The important things to add is that it's clean.
11:52 It's been tested. It works perfectly. Heats up great. It could be a three or fourprongong. We'll we can change the cable for them. And then I always include that we will warranty it for 30 days for a 30-day guarantee. And then the real trick is offer free delivery within 30 minutes. Um >> I'm going to lead with that cuz that's huge. And >> the reason we do this is a it sells way quicker.
12:17 And the other reason we do it is every time you go deliver a dryer to someone, 90% of the time they give you their old dryer back and so you have uh what I like to call the infinite money glitch. You just have infinite inventory. >> Okay. Okay. I'm going to get a little aggressive. I'm going to go 175 cuz free delivery is huge. >> Yeah, that that works.
12:35 >> Okay. Do we want to auto reply to availability messages? >> You can do that. And then if you have any local groups, you can put it in local groups. If not, just publish. >> Okay. Create listing. >> You're going to use the same photos and videos. >> Okay. Okay. What's our title >> for this one? You want to put the brand name in. >> All right. So, what's happening here is Facebook says, "Hey, this is you're posting the same thing again."
12:53 We're going to get creative. What's this thing called? >> Uh, Admiral Dryer. >> Okay. So, we're going to trick Facebook. We'll get that. So, we'll do this one item. Add photos. We're going to go boom boom boom. Admiral >> Dryer for rent. Okay. >> And putting the brand name in there is is crucial because it makes it look like more of a legit listing for sale.
13:15 They click on it and then they learn more about the the rental process. The price is anywhere between $35 and $50. So, right in the middle, I would go around 40 or 45. >> Used good. >> Yep. >> Description. >> Um, >> free delivery. >> Yep. You I would just do electric dryer for rent, free delivery, install and maintenance. And then you can say cat phrases like stop going to the laundry mat, stop dealing with broken machines.
13:44 And then I put the price again of $45 a month. Message me for more info. And what happens is a lot of times you have these families, um, lots of kids, they have a washer and a dryer, their dryer breaks. A new dryer can be anywhere between $500 and $1,000. They don't want to waste time at the laundry mat. And so it is a good option for them to go rent a dryer for $45 a month and just keep doing laundry.
14:08 >> Don't skip a beat. And they just keep keep doing their laundry. So, within about 40 minutes of me making those Facebook posts, I got a notification from someone that wanted to rent the unit. So, I spent about 5 minutes cleaning it up, wiping it down, making it look nice and presentable. And then Kyler helped me load this bad boy back into his trailer.
14:24 We drove it about 15 minutes away. And sadly, it was a basement apartment. We had to get it down there. But I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly we were able to rent this bad boy out. Here in a minute, we'll break down how that side of the business works. Oh, fetch. >> Oh, we're so close. >> You're just going to take off the back panel one more time.
14:46 >> Okay. >> Problem solution. Problem solution. >> That's right. All right. We're a little too thick here. We're going to take out this back panel. >> All righty. Now, the moment of truth. Oh, man. We have no room to spare. Oh, like a glove. All righty. Screw this bad boy back on. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Even I can do this part. >> Okay. Then we push her back.
15:25 >> Do the old test. The old testu. >> Beautiful. Nice and warm. >> Perfect. >> Okay, so the big secret about everything we did is we posted before we even fixed the thing. We didn't even know would if it would work. Thankfully, it did. Uh, and we posted it twice in two different ways. 175 to sell and 45 to rent. What's the logic there >> with this dryer?
15:53 You could have sold it for $175, made some quick cash, or what's crazy is people all over the US will rent uh washers and dryers. And we installed this to a lady who is renting it for $45 a month. her dryer broke. And what I've learned over the last three years is that she will probably rent it for at least two years at $45 a month. So that's,080 bucks.
16:15 >> And there's a good chance she rents it for even longer than 2 years. >> It's definitely possible. >> But once you take it back, you give it to someone else for 2 years. Yep. So >> it'll just keep making money forever and you can just keep fixing it if it ever breaks. >> So that's how we go from a free dryer that someone threw away to $1,80. >> That's insane.
16:29 >> The asterisk is it it can take some time to collect all that money, but if we want money now, we sell for 175 same day. >> For sure. I worked on this with your coaching. It took about 45 minutes. It was about 15 minutes away. So like call it 45 minutes of driving, 45 minutes of fixing. We're working at an hourly rate of like 1 to 300 bucks. >> Yeah.
16:45 And I think the the flipping business and the rental business complement each other cuz there's not always crazy demand for the rentals and vice versa. So the rental business is more of the recurring revenue and I make over $10,000 a month just on the rentals. And then on the flipping side of things, when people aren't renting, I sell and make $5,000 a month doing that.
17:01 So they complement each other. One's more of a recurring and one's more of an active, but they are both very very uh very lucrative. >> Okay. And you can learn these skills on YouTube by watching this video. Not very hard. >> I've never never went to school for appliances. Everything can be learned on YouTube and uh just hands-on experience. >> And obviously after a while you saw an opportunity here.
17:20 What is this website? >> Yeah, take my appliance. So what's cool about this business is is actually very scalable. Finding dryers and washers on the side of the road isn't the most consistent way. So, we built a website called Take My Appliance that connects homeowners who want to get rid of their appliances, whether they're working or not working with people like me and you who want to go and flip the appliances or rent out the appliances.
17:39 We get tens of thousands of leads every single month all across the US in every single city. And you just choose which ones you want to go pick up and then what you do with them is your choice. You can either, like I said, rent them, flip them, or do rent to own, anything like that. >> So, if you're just an individual that needs to get rid of an appliance, you can do so at takemyappliance.com.
17:55 If you want to make money doing what we just showed, you can do so at takemyappliance.com/partnerspartners. And we will we will share these leads with you, sell them to you. >> Yes. >> Okay. And this is your business. I I don't own it, but Kyler knows this industry better than anyone I know. >> It's awesome. You can get a very very consistent flow of leads coming in. >> Thank you, Kyler. >> Awesome. Check out the corner office for
