It's equivalent to Bitcoin to Ethereum where you can send Ether like you would a Bitcoin, but then you have smart contracts with Solidity. You could send Knight or other assets on the Midnight Ledger like you do Zcash and have the same level of privacy, but then also you have compact a TypeScript style programming language and you can write smart contracts that are private and execute them privately.
