00:00 Most don't realize it yet, but cryptocurrency in the next 5 years, if you're invested, will make you rich. Let me prove it to you. 400 million Saint Cloud Credit Union says that Bitcoin is the blockbuster moment for credit unions. >> You're calling this the potential blockbuster video moment for Yeah. for community banks and credit union. What does that mean?
00:22 >> There's literally trillions and trillions of dollars in assets under management in credit unions. actually federally insured credit unions reached approximately $2.48 trillion in the first quarter of 2026. And the thesis is, and this is really one of three big things I'm going to share with you today, but the thesis is those trillions of dollars in credit unions are going to have to move a significant portion of that into Bitcoin, into DeFi, or else they're going to suffer a similar fate as Blockbuster when it
00:54 didn't adapt to streaming. Let's watch then react. >> Yeah. So if we look at um you know Blockbuster had an opportunity before Netflix to move their business model and we saw what that did uh to Blockbuster, right? I think as financial institutions if we think things like Bitcoin and decentralized finance are a fad and we don't look at how we can scale the credit union charter to the next level with blockchain, I think we fear being replaced in our local communities.
01:24 >> Yeah. So one of your biggest worries is the consolidation. 100%. >> So, um, how quickly do you think that could happen? >> I, um, some people have called me crazy, but I I really think we have this sprint between now and 2030. If we look at, um, the credit union industry is already consolidating at, you know, four to 5%. Um, in the late '9s, there was approximately 10,000 credit unions in the United States.
01:46 Today, there's 4,500. um now layer on things like DeFi and um you know the ability to move peer-to-peer uh value. If we don't um change our business model, I think the threat is real. >> And it's really that simple. Adapt or die because what is a credit union? A credit union is a centralized ledger for lending and borrowing. Decentralized lending and borrowing is in blue.
02:14 Centralized lending and borrowing is in black. Both are growing. Although DeFi is growing a whole lot faster, DeFi offers instant finality. It offers pristine collateral. It offers global transactions in a fraction of a second. So unless you want to die, you must adapt. And just like when gold was first institutionalized back in 2004, look at the gold chart after 2004 when it was institutionalized.
02:43 And as I share with you this chart, I do want to take 30 seconds and thank exchange sponsor Liquid. If you want an edge trading across every market, this is the one app to do it. Liquid lets you trade perpetual markets across crypto, stocks, indices, FX, commodities, preIPO names, plus prediction markets right from your phone. And anybody in the altcoin daily community when you deposit your first $100 get a $25 bonus plus 10% off all fees.
03:17 And of course this is a decentralized exchange. This is non-custodial. There is no KYC which to me gives me an edge when I trade because it's decentralized and non-custodial. So I can trade after hours. I can trade on the weekend. If news breaks and all traditional markets are asleep, I have an edge because I'm trading on a decentralized exchange. Again, link down below to learn more.
03:42 Grab your $25 bonus. And just like when gold was first institutionalized back in 2004. Yes, there were 50% dips. Yes, there was 40% dips. But any dips didn't invalidate the use case or the inherent value of gold. No, the adoption continued with even macroeconomist Lynn Alden saying Bitcoin could eventually be worth over $840,000. I think it's still small compared to its potential.
04:14 >> So, one is I I just analyze it, say, is it still the best at what it does? And if that's a yes, then the second question is how big, you know, what is the market for what it does? And so, for example, if Bitcoin is global capital and permissionless payments, um, you know, right now it's worth something like 0.2% of of global liquid assets, and then I ask myself, could it could it be worth 2% of global liquid assets?
04:39 Would that be unreasonable? And my view is no. Um, and so it's like I still think that, you know, that there's a, you know, potential 10x or more um upside to the asset compared to the the global sea of assets that can be invested. I mean, compared to the global bond market, compared to equities, uh, housing, uh, which is, you know, that that's illquid assets, um, I think gold's valuable, but that's that's part of the the the the total base we can consider.
05:05 And then there's Bitcoin. And I just think it's still small compared to what its potential is, especially in in that world we just talked about. I mean, it's a it's a world of deficits. It's a world of capital controls. It's a world of war. Uh, and and you know, self-custodial mobile capital. um I think is valuable. >> Yeah. Yeah. And just to clarify, when you say 10 times, do you mean potential upside in Bitcoin's value or the size of the market it could eventually serve?
05:33 >> I mean, I think those are roughly the same thing, especially if you're talking about store value. I mean, there's there's obviously different metrics you can get to if you're talking about payment volumes. Um but in terms of of just percentage of global liquid assets, um yeah, I think you could you could 10x the price and and 10x therefore the market size.
05:50 is me because the supply itself is pretty limited at this point. I mean, it's it's it's almost all mind. >> Bitcoin is going to grow a whole lot bigger, I believe. Again, I'm not a financial adviser. I cannot see the future. I'm just sharing my opinions. But it's not just Bitcoin, it's crypto. Cardano, tapped by Brazil's state oil giant to track cleaner jet fuel and diesel.
06:12 So this is a company called Petro Bros is testing the blockchain Cardano in two research projects aimed at preventing emissions benefits from being counted twice and tracing fuel data across production use. This is institutional adoption globally. And in a direct quote from Cardano Foundation, Brazil has been one of the most consistent adopters of Cardano.
06:36 From Serpro in government to Sensei in industry, it's great to see petro, one of the largest firms in the region, continuing to see value in onchain provenence and traceability. Let's look back at what Cardano founder said about one year ago when Bitcoin was peaking at all-time highs. Little did we know, yes, 50% corrections even in assets that have great product market fit can happen.
07:03 But let's check his work. Have fundamentals and thus this asset class headed in the direction that he made the prediction of a year ago. Was he is he right? >> So you're talking about a coexistence between traditional finance and what we have right now. what you represent. I just had a conversation from uh with Vlad Tennv of Robin Hood. He talks about how cryptocurrencies will be the backbone of u uh the financial system.
07:32 >> Will it be? >> I think so. I mean tokens are like financial stem cells. They could be heart cells and brain cells and so they can be securities or commodities or currencies or intellectual property and having T0 24/7 global settlement with full programmability is a really powerful thing. The only thing we're missing is selective disclosure and rational privacy.
07:50 You need to have the ability to do private smart contracts to sort out the private side from the public side. And that's where the industry is at right now. Solving that last mile problem. Once you have it, you can pull everything together and then you can be a supererset to broker dealers and super set the custodians and all this other stuff that runs in legacy world.
08:08 And at that point, there's no reason to run the legacy systems. You want to run the crypto systems because there's far more liquidity. >> And when will that happen? >> Within the next 3 to 5 years. And the big challenge was regulation, but the regulation's getting done. >> Most don't realize how big Bitcoin is going to be, how big crypto is going to be, and how big the merging of traditional finance into crypto, how much money is going to pour onto blockchain rails.
08:35 Most don't realize that that's happening. In fact, I went to the dentist today and I h I mentioned, "Oh, yeah. I talk about crypto and she's very nice, but she said, "I didn't realize that was still a thing." Or or I don't know. I mean, the point is that the masses, dare I the masses, they they don't really realize what is happening, what the big money is readying the systems to pour traditional money into.
09:03 And it's not because they want to, it's because they lit literally have to. Did you see what the credit union people said earlier in this video? They have to. It's adapt or die. Bitcoin is going to grow because they won't stop money printing. DeFi, which is Ethereum, a unis swap, right? We we talk about coins that fit that narrative all the time on this channel.
09:24 That's growing bigger because businesses want to compete. They want to do better. I'm going to keep making a video every single day on this channel and try and let the world know that this is happening because I honestly do believe if you're in crypto, you could lose everything, but you could get rich. And I'm going to try and learn as much as I can to do it. Click subscribe if you made it this far in today's
