Answer

Crypto super apps could change finance by combining related financial and crypto services in one easier-to-use interface, but broader adoption depends on reducing technical complexity, improving product usefulness and building real products rather than selling unrealized visions.

AI Summary

ChangeNOW is a crypto and financial-services super app offering non-custodial swaps, wallet services, custody, APIs, payments, storage, trading, staking and asset management. ChangeNOW Pro adds features for more active users, including cash back on swaps, reduced fees, AML address checks and crypto loans. The central product goal is to hide unnecessary blockchain complexity so users can focus on sending, receiving, paying, exchanging and managing balances rather than choosing networks, bridges, gas tokens, routes or technical settings. Crypto applications need to become faster, simpler and less fragmented to achieve broader adoption, particularly for people in developing countries who lack bank accounts or need more accessible remittance tools. ChangeNOW's future ambition includes integration into more wallets and becoming part of users' regular financial routines.

Key Points

  • Crypto market conditions feel more positive, with increased hiring, renewed retail interest, more industry discussion and greater activity around conferences, although false hopes remain and crypto still has very high highs, very low lows and frustrating sideways periods.
  • ChangeNOW began in 2017 as an instant crypto exchange and now covers storage, swaps, trading, staking and asset management.
  • ChangeNOW has B2C and B2B offerings. Its B2B products let wallets and other partners integrate ChangeNOW's API, swaps and bridging for their users.
  • ChangeNOW Pro targets advanced or high-volume users with cash back on swaps, reduced fees, AML checks, crypto loans and other tools.
  • Crypto newcomers can be blocked by needing a second token to pay gas fees, such as needing ETH to send USDT, or by receiving USDT on a network where they lack the network's gas token.
  • Users should be separated from unnecessary blockchain technology. They primarily need to know their balance, how much they will receive and what a transaction costs, rather than selecting routes, networks or execution details.
  • A crypto super app should contain related services that users want in one place instead of sending them across multiple applications, while avoiding unrelated features that do not fit the product's core use case.
  • ChangeNOW aims to remove unnecessary terminology and complexity from sending, receiving, paying and exchanging crypto, while preserving advanced controls for experienced users without overwhelming basic users.

00:00 Like I know like for instance US regulators like the SEC they've talked about how they want to build regulation for a super app and they want super apps to like thrive because they kind of see the way that you know tech is built. >> A key priority of my chairmanship is to allow market participants to innovate with super apps. >> Is there any limit to the amount of crypto and financial services products and features that could be in a super app?

00:24 Um that's a really good question. The future of finance is crypto super apps like change now today. The great Martin Masser joins us. >> Think of me as your concurge for change now in crypto. >> He is change now's director of strategic partnership. We talk all about super apps and crypto's next new era. What do you wish more people understood about your product?

00:55 I think firstly it's for anyone. So you don't have to be a very experienced user or you don't have to be a non-experienced user. We understand everyone has different needs. That's going to be the key thing. That's what's making this super app. Smash the like button and share this video with one friend who also wants to find the next big crypto super apps.

01:14 And let's get into it. It turns out that Martin is a big fan of Altcoin Daily. Martin Masser, director of strategic partnerships at Change Now. Change Now, for those who don't know, is a crypto and financial services super app offering non-custodial crypto swaps, wallet, custody, APIs, payments built for seamless digital asset access. I know we're going to have a conversation today, Martin.

01:44 I just wanted to make sure everybody was on the same page. How are you doing today, man? >> Well, mate, you did my bed my job better than me, to be honest. you didn't slip up. A bit of a tongue twister. You did really well. Um we're just chatting off air about uh what a what a fan I am of you. Obviously you've been lurking around for for all these years.

02:00 So uh yeah, it's a it's a real honor. Um obviously there's people that have stuck around since the was it the 18 2018s 2019s. The channel's evolved, hasn't it? You know, like from I think you used to go on web pages and you used to scroll through it and then you you showed your face at one point. But like my I I think at the end of this year, Bitcoin will still be below $20,000, but that will take us into 2020 or Bitcoin will creep up over $20,000.

02:28 That's when the media is going to go crazy talking about how Bitcoin is still here. The channel has evolved. Yeah, you've been watching since our very beginnings in 2018. All right, welcome everybody to Altcoin Daily. Since this is my first video, let me quickly introduce myself. My name is Aaron from Altcoin Daily. Uh this is a new channel obviously.

02:48 Um I've been involved in the crypto space for a while. I think I'm going to bring a lot of value to this community as well as this channel and I think it's going to grow pretty fast. We've gotten in our 10,000 hours in how getting better as uh you know the crypto industry has gotten bigger and better. So happy to hear that. Uh I know you were involved in uh crypto since before me since like 2012 or something but yeah you've been watching us since the very beginning.

03:12 Do you know what I think? Do you know what? One of the um one of the first interviews I think I remember. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Okay. You spoke I think you're at a Tron event, you're with Ivan on Tech and you had like a plaid top on, you know, like a blacky red one. I might might be wrong on that, but I definitely remember that cuz I had the same one and I was like, you pull the shirt off better than I do.

03:39 >> Do you remember that one as well? >> Well, I remember that 100%. I don't remember the exact shirt I was wearing, but that was yeah, the big Tron event where Justin Sun, you know, uh, paid Warren Buffett millions to have like lunch with him and then Tron invited a bunch of influencers. At the last minute, Justin Sun canled on Warren Buffett. I think in retrospect it was due to, you know, Chinese concerns putting pressure on him.

04:00 But then it was just me, Ivan Techch, Wendy, Elot Trades, uh, early Bit Boy, a lot of different, uh, people who, uh, the industry would come to know. Uh, you know, for for better and worse, just you know, that was like the the very beginning. I I totally remember that stream in San Francisco. >> Yeah. Did Did you have a camera guy with you? >> Definitely.

04:21 Yeah. Me and my brother did it together. So, at one point my brother was holding the camera or me and then we just kind of switched off. >> There's definitely one point I think he dropped the camera or move I I need to find Is it still on the channel? Yep. Still on the channel. I'm gonna have to try and find it and then prove it to you. But I'm pretty sure at one point he like drops it to your feet and then comes back up again.

04:38 Uh it's uh it's proper like real it just shows how far the channel's come from there to now. Um so I'm really proud of you, man. You've done really well. Thank you. >> All right. Welcome back everybody to Altcoin Daily. My name is Aaron and we are joined here by the Ivan on Tech, the best in the business coming at you every morning like an atomic clock with the black coffee, no cream, no sugar.

05:02 >> Yes sir. Yes sir. Good to be here. Good to be on Daily. Obviously interviewing me will be the pinnacle of all to this Martin and uh yeah. Yeah, it's there's so much that we had the live stream back then and we had like the produced video we made after the fact. Definitely still on our channel. Um I could talk all day about it, but Martin, I want to talk a little bit more about you and uh have our audience get to know you and uh your product uh a little bit better.

05:26 But actually before we jump into the product, just you know, crypto's up again or is it? I mean, how are you feeling about the current state of the crypto market nowadays? >> I was I was going to actually have a chat with you about this. So, I would say the last last few weeks feels like a lifetime, maybe even a month, month and a half. It's not just the price going up.

05:47 It's I'm seeing a lot more hiring going on. I don't know if you you know like just there's a lot more hiring going on. There's a lot more roles. There's a lot more talk about it. I'm getting the people that never claimed to know Bitcoin price now telling me, "Oh, maybe is it time to get in?" It definitely feels better vibes and it definitely feels we're in a better position than where we're at.

06:13 There's a lot of these false hopes, but um definitely feels much better. I don't know like may maybe you might be having the same thing. Maybe your viewer numbers have also go up. You must be very heavily correlated with that as well. >> When it rains, it pours. when the prices go up, the viewers go up and uh you know companies uh you know kind of just get less tight with their outreach towards us or just you know wanting to collap in general.

06:38 So yeah, I mean it feels like there's a renewed interest from retail and uh you know different uh you know everybody in crypto it feels like >> everybody's ready for the next leg up especially because there's been so much building going around. >> I got to say best best marketing you can get and I say this a lot is a green candle. soon as you get a green candle, everyone gets in.

06:59 You know, at my previous place at the foundation, it was it was it was um at the Tom Foundation, it it was really funny. As soon as Tom would go up like 20% or 30% in like a couple of days, the amount of people that would be messaging me to say, "Actually, we're we're looking to build on Tom, you know, like really excited does so much. It's um it's crazy."

07:17 But so, look, it feels really good. Um we are now in conference season as well. So hopefully you know people now will be able to come out. It's like >> start to talk. So yeah no it it it's it's it's feeling a lot more positive um out there. >> You guys will have a presence at token 2049 I think I saw on your >> just just a little. Yeah we're um we're one of the main sponsors.

07:44 We've got a huge booth. Uh got podcast studio that I'll be recording. I'll be trying to do a a job similar to yours. Um, obviously you won't have my washing at the background like you do always. Um, you know, my dirty plates. It's uh, you know, different studio there. >> I change it up. I'm a digital nomad. Sometimes you got to go from the hotel if you're home.

08:04 It's just, you know, wherever wherever you're at. >> I know. It's great our industry though, isn't it? You know, like back in the day, like how many people could rise so quickly in crypto? You know, like you look at any other industry, crypto is one of those places. And I really do want to stress some of the people that are coming out always be nice to these people.

08:25 Always be nice in general. But the amount of people now that are very high positions that maybe I used to do these London meetups and the amount of people that just sort of ask, oh, I'm just sort of getting in and now they're at senior pos. I'm so glad I helped them out because now this is how it's all about networking and you know, like helping out people.

08:43 But yeah, it's it it it it's an industry now where, you know, if you if you put a little bit of work in, you can rise very quickly. And I can't think of other industries where the opportunities are still like incredible. Like head of ecosystem can be someone that was a community contributor even like a year or two ago. It's it's a great industry to sort of be in.

09:07 Uh the highs are very high, the lows are obviously very low, and the sideways stuff is aggravating sometimes to many people. So yeah, anyway, >> totally. It's it's great to see the people that I came up with or saw around in 2018 and 2019, you know, then have leadership positions nowadays. Um but before we get too far, I gave Change Now kind of a broad introduction.

09:28 I was wondering if you could like briefly give Change Now a broad introduction since this is your focus. What is it? What makes it unique? Oh, I thought my focus was trolling you on these interviews, but no, in order reminiscing maybe there um or may maybe you could do some therapy on uh you know working crypto for many years but yeah no it's um as you mentioned at the start it's a super app uh there's two areas there there's a B2B there's a B2C um there's change now pro which is really good um this is helps more

09:59 advanced users they get additional benefits around that from like cash back on swaps reduce fees AML address checks which are really useful. You get the unlimited crypto loans. There's a wide range through the pro that's more um a B2C and then obviously B2B we have a lot of partners that integrate the API going through that there um on there. So you probably have used elements of change now probably without even knowing it.

10:25 And obviously when I joined I got a lot of people telling me both ways that I'm a user myself. I've gone through change now the website been doing my swaps been sending and um also people are like oh I used the wallet I didn't realize but yes I realized it was powered by change now um it's been a great experience so that's it when you when when you change it's always good to sort of get a lot of that positive feedback when you >> you know here's the thing when somebody tries to use a a you know a crypto product in the

10:52 past there's been a lot of sticking points right so I know something that you guys it's important to you that these sticking points these pain points of the past that you're have a better mousetrap. >> Yeah. Like what would you say is the for for a newbie? What would you think's the most aggravating thing if you're a newbie? >> I mean it's h man it's I got to >> you must speak to I know you got to like dumb it down in a way where like really like you get someone new in like >> I always have to think of it from the

11:22 point of view of a new person in the space. So remember when I was getting involved, my Ether wallet was like one of the wallets to use and I didn't like to even think about, oh, these tokens are going to be in my Ethereum wallet was like a, you know, thing. I think, you know, in the past couple years, bridging has been a big pain point. Um, that kind of stuff.

11:40 What What do you think? >> I think one of the most if I'm a new person, someone gives me ETH, why else can I have some ETH? cuz you hear at the news, oh, I want to I'll send you some ETH on that works. And someone asks, then you send USDT and you don't have ETH and then you're like, why why can't I send it? What's the issue? >> Oh, well, you you you need to do gas.

12:05 It's like what what's you know, and there's this huge gap for people to actually understand. I need a second token to send the token that I already have. That's just uh it's just a blocker for a lot of people. Like there's so there's so many there's so many things I had the the other day someone sent me some USDT. I I'll send you some USDT. You sent me it.

12:30 I didn't realize and they said, "Oh, have you got it?" I go, "No, it's Oh, I sent you it." And I I checked it. They sent me on a B&B chain and I didn't have any anything else. It was just my wallet, you know, it's on B&B chain. Um how do I get that USDT out? It's a very like there's multiple things. Then I need to get B&B. How do I get the B&B? And then now, you know, how much of the B&B do I for someone that's brand new into that ecosystem?

12:54 It's just a blocker. It's a very hard idea and concept to sort of get get round, you know, shouldn't be doing that stuff. So, um yeah, it's like I I really think users should be split away from the tech. And I think that's the key bit that you know really want to stress a lot about this you know just just in our industry there. >> Yeah that's uh definitely people new people go get a crypto app because they want to do one thing then all of a sudden they're presented with all these other things they might have to worry

13:31 about or or additional things. Um you know whether it's you know networks, gas, bridges, different versions of the same asset. um you know but how much like information should you give a user like what is the line like um you know what should they know about what should they not know about um that that's um I think depending on the user you know when the user's first going out all you really care about is your balance you know like how can you swap how can you do some basic stuff it's not when you go into your bank

14:06 account um I think some of big blockers that you have is like even like networks, you know, what networks do you send it on? Again, I worked in banking for for for many many years. Um, they're very good, you know, the apps are very good, you know, sending it to one person or the other, but even like 10 years ago, it might ask you what how you wanting to send it.

14:27 Is it swift? Is it backs? Is it Axe? There's so many terminology and I'm like as a user, I'm like, what does that even mean? I'm completely all I want to do is I want to send it to Aaron. That's what I want to do. that you can't have all these additional blockers that are going on there. >> Mhm. Yeah. People with banking apps, they, you know, it's very easy to use.

14:46 Then you get into crypto apps and it's not so easy. >> No, definitely. So, look, I think the best thing to do is, you know, you need to avoid change. You need to avoid the words protocols, integration, tech architecture. You know, I don't know how my router works. I never don't don't mind at all not never knowing to be honest where I do think it's there's too much of a dependency talking about tech.

15:10 >> Yeah. And that's probably where a lot of people like kind of drop off once they get the apps and they just like you know don't continue with it because it's too confusing. >> Yeah. Oh, it's much. Look, in the end of the day, users really just should they just need to decide what happens to their balances, their funds, rather than trying to make technical decisions and, you know, having a gas fee blocked and you have to release the nodes and loads of stuff like that, step by step.

15:34 That's just too too complicated for basic users. Um, they all all they want to know is like how much it's going to receive and what it costs. no interest in you know sort of choosing the route and how to execute it in that sense. So yeah. >> So that takes us to change now. Um can you kind of tell us like the origin story of change now versus where it is today?

16:00 I know change now started as an exchange but obviously it's a lot more built out with financial products. >> Yeah. Yeah. It was solving the problem back in 2017 just I think just before you were even making your videos weren't >> I was in crypto but wasn't making the videos. Yeah. >> Yeah. Uh so it started there as an instant crypto exchange. Now today the product covers so much more with what people are actually doing every day with crypto from like storage swaps, trading, staking, all the asset management.

16:27 Um and I think as I said there, you know, people that are using larger volumes, you know, they're finding a change now pro which gives them additional benefits and tools. So again, you're getting the cash back there, you're getting the reduced fees, the AML checks, um crypto loans as well. Basic users may not want to touch that, but obviously power users, users that are using it a lot more, you know, like this is stuff that they're getting excited about and what they wanting to do.

16:54 And again, we have a lot of applications in particular wallets, um but other areas as well that want to integrate change now to give to their users. and uh there's a range of what they can do in there. Um so again major wallets can integrate change now and then they provide the users the swaps and the and the bridging there. So yeah, that's what we've we've done.

17:17 And as I said, like when I was working at Ton, there was quite a few of the wallets there. That's how I knew about it so well. You know, people spoke so, you know, passionate like wanting to do the crosschain without it being so complicated cuz again like crosschain, bridging, all of those terms, you know, trying to work that out. You know, I even now I get very confused.

17:36 Um, you know, the meme where the guy is sweating loads, I still have that, you know, I'm like, am I am I checking everything right? Am I doing it right? You know, is it the right network? Have I got the right gas? Is the recipient have I got the right network? Have I done this right? You know, what version of the asset? Is it the right USDT? You know, like there's so many things that I need to do.

18:00 Um, so yeah, you know, we shouldn't get people like wanting to send $50 trying to study blockchain and work all of this stuff out. You just never you never get adoption in that way, you know. >> So yeah. Oh yes, like I know like for instance like US regulators like the SEC, you know, they've talked about, you know, how they want to build regulation for a super app and they want super apps to like thrive because they kind of see the way that, you know, tech is built.

18:28 >> Is there any limit to the amount of crypto and financial services products and features that could be in a super app? >> Um, that's a really good question. That's a really we shouldn't just think of crypto super, you know, like super apps. I don't know if you've traveled to Dubai or even got Uber. You got Uber Eatat. There's so many, >> you know, that works very well from the sense of like go to grab Kareem out in Dubai as well.

18:52 Um, you know, like people live their lives, you know, like so many people are used to now just having that that one app and then you're able to do multiple things. But as you as you're saying, there's there's no point having multiple things that just doesn't make sense in an app. Uh I'm just trying to think off the top of my head, you know, like the delivery apps work really well, but then you know certain things with Uber, if you want to buy crypto on Uber, that doesn't really work.

19:20 You know, if I want to do foreign ex, you know, like not going there, I'm going for Uber for the delivery and the the bringing me stuff, you know, that's the key bit of what Karine did. You know, I want my washing done. Okay, I want it delivered to me. That's it. So the crypto app you what you want to do is have the things in there that make sense that people want to be doing and you don't want to be sending people the problem I have you're sending people to multiple different places and you just want to have it all in

19:47 one place you know that's why we see the most successful apps that we have do things that are related and do very well in there. >> Totally. when it comes to, you know, financial service products, they all want to be in one app, but it's, you know, taking an Uber, that can be in a separate app. >> Um, and then as you and the team were were, you know, building Change Now to to try and like solve these pain points and like fragmented experience, what was like the first thing you removed or, you know, one of the bigger

20:17 things that you wanted to make sure change now had? Um for the integrating be you know people that integrate it's the speed. So you know they can integrate change now within their app a lot quicker. You're removing a lot of the fluff. They have the basics very quickly. We know the key people in change now and in crypto just in general. You're wanting to uh what's it?

20:44 Send. You want people to receive. If you want people to pay, you know, exchange they're the products, just remove as much of the fluff as you can for these products. Make this really, really simple, you know, like try not to confuse the user, you know, like if I'm sending $50, I do not want to confuse the user or I don't want to be confused myself how to send that $50, you know, cut all of that out.

21:12 And yeah, it's a lot cleaner. So you can cut all of that out there. You just you want the users to have access to the advantage controls as well, but you don't need to bombard the users with that or need expert knowledge. Like I don't know if do you remember was it was it the um if I went ether scan and I had to put in the metadata to work out. It's like I can't be doing that to users honestly like you can't be having some advanced tech knowledge to basic stuff even now like you know trying to view my wallet still get

21:46 confused in ether stand I'm like it's like oh have I been have I have I had it all lost oh no it's in the tokens or it's in the transactions and it's all there like >> I I always say this as an industry we're brilliant at confusing the audience you know NFTTS and uh bridging and there's so many nodes and sharding. All right, we we use so many terms that confuse people can probably confuse everyone.

22:12 So yeah, we just need to remove the terminology on that and yeah, >> totally. >> That's really ideal. >> And then thinking about the I didn't get a chance to ask you the users like who who's because I know you guys have the business side and the I guess more retail side like who are the the users you are building for? Um, it's a range. Um, it it's the users that just want to send the crypto quickly and easily.

22:40 So, it's just very basic. You can get in there. But then again, it is the advanced users as well. Maybe someone that wants to do AML checks, you know, like that. That's that's something that again we've been asking a lot been asked a lot for. Maybe someone wants to get cash back on the swaps. Again, that's possible to do that. Uh, and again like lower fees, all of that stuff.

23:02 And like again crosschain, some of the crosschain stuff is still very complicated to use. It's how do you simplify a lot of the crosschain stuff as well. Um, so yeah, it's just the range of users um that we're able to do, but you don't want to penalize experienced users by not giving them the tools and you don't want to penalize basic users by over complicating it.

23:24 So it's it's a very fine line and you know again I worked in product UX and banking you know you spend a lot of time learning this and knowing this and doing a lot of testing of like how can you make it so then if you do want to do advanced stuff you you can give the user the advanced tools without giving it too much noise overall in there. So yeah.

23:46 >> Mhm. And something I wanted to ask you about, you know, your time at Ton blockchain because there aren't too many examples over the years of, you know, a crypto product reaching that mainstream adoption. Of course, you know, Telegram using Ton has a lot to do with it. But like the question is, >> what did you learn about how mainstream users behave once crypto becomes like easy to use?

24:07 It's that mainstream adoption. Yeah, I I don't know if people know, you know, I'm assuming everyone in your audience uses Telegram, you know. I know we we chatted on Telegram and I don't know if you know, I could even go on my phone, send you a message and actually send you crypto through the message. So, the USDT or um I think a lot of people we we had some some of the issues people would build an app because there's Telegram many apps.

24:34 I don't know if you're familiar with Telegram many apps. I think if you did the tap to earn, people were people were starting to know about it. But again, the um discoverability was wasn't great there. Just because there was a billion users does not mean necessarily you're going to get a billion users. So you have the audience, but just because you're of an app, you're not necessarily going to be doing it.

24:56 And um yeah, we we there was a lot of there's a lot of learnings from that. It just showed me though like really how powerful this distribution can be because apps could blow up and like we were having apps getting like two, three, four million users overnight. Um, but just because you had the access, it didn't make it a success. Some of it was very over complicated as it as as it was, but when people really wanted to use something, they got to use it and they got to use it quick.

25:26 So yeah, it was um it was a great experience there and I you know I love the community out there uh very passionate community. So um yeah and I I still think you know I'm still very positive on Telegram and I know like Pavl Durov the founder he's taking over a lot of Ton and he wants to integrate a lot more within Telegram. So again you know that's another big super app there Telegram.

25:51 So, it' be quite interesting with the um the communications in that how all that's going to work. >> No pressure to be bullish on Telegram nowadays. Now that you left, you know, we can only, you know, hope they're making the right decisions. >> It's hard being in crypto not to be sort of bullish on a thing that like 99 probably 99.9% of people sort of use, you know, when there's a Telegram, you know, you know, someone's in crypto, you know, where they have Telegram as their um homepage or their screen saver at at

26:20 conferences there. So yeah, it's um it's great. So yeah, >> and just to clarify, Change Now versus Change Now Pro, what is the difference? >> Yeah. So the the pro was more for these advanced users. Um, so it was more a specific type of user, you know, someone that uses probably maybe like you you yourself, you know, using crypto often used to a lot of these patterns doing the it's not really probably for someone that's making an occasional transaction.

26:53 You know, they don't have very many reasons to think about cash back or reduced fees or doing these AML checks. Um, so really you have to just sort of think, you know, change now is built for a range of crypto users. pros for people that you use it more actively and you know benefit from a lot of these tools um better conditions just around that activity probably like um you know like Uber now has these like upgraded ones like Uber is it Uber black I think um where where you can pay subscription and you get additional

27:21 features or cheaper >> cheaper rentals on that again the pro is really fitting for that user there so you know if you're doing a lot of transaction volume you can get the cash back on the swaps the reduced fees is the ML checks and multiple other things there um going up there on the usage. >> I get you. Regular Uber is just request car, but Uber Black, it's like, "Oh, air conditioning on or off.

27:44 Does do I want the driver to talk? Yes or no?" I get more features. >> Yeah, I'm a I'm a I'm a I'm a 4.3 on Uber. So, uh >> something must have happened >> multiple times. There we go. So, yeah. Uh even even Uber Black doesn't give me the um the higher rate, but yeah. Um I'm glad you got that. Yeah. So, you know, that's really what what we're doing.

28:08 >> Um and then, you know, I know my audience is listening to this interview and a lot of people are like, "Okay, I want to I'm going to go try out Change now after this." And as you know, and my final few questions, I guess my next one is um you know, if somebody wants to go create an account on Change Now today, how easy would it be for them to set up account?

28:28 What would they have to do? >> Should should just be go to change now.io, click the button to to log in, and you can go straight away, straight in there. And then if you want, you could even just go in there and um let's just say you want to send Bitcoin um to ETH, you can just pick the wallet there. So, you just send it to the address, you scan it, whatever you whatever asset you want to another asset, and it just sends it to the address.

28:54 So, you're not even sort of storing it there. you can send it there, which I kind of find really useful. Like the amount of times like someone gives them the address, I can just go in there and just use that to send it to their address so they don't actually see cuz my big issue is I don't like people knowing what my um you know my address is and the contents of that.

29:13 So it's it's a very useful tool as well like you know let's just say we go out to the Are you a baseball fan, NFL fan? What's your what's your sport? >> Um I like basketball. I mean I I like for I root for the home team. So, it's the Dodgers here in LA, but I like basketball. >> Yeah. >> Basketball. Basketball. What's your team? Lakers. >> It It's the Lakers now.

29:31 It was originally the Cavs because I grew up in Ohio. And so, I've I've been with LeBron this whole time >> until now. Okay. He's still He's stood around. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Let's just say let's just say we um we um you took me out, you know, being British. Let's just share the cost, you know, and I want to send you some money. You know, you don't have the means that I don't.

29:52 I don't have Venmo. I'm assuming that's one way of doing it and multiple ways. Let's just say we both can send crypto. You give me your address and then I can send it to you. But maybe I don't want you to see my address or maybe you don't want me to see yours. There's ways that we can do it and then I can use change now there plugging it in there. I can send it through there.

30:12 Um, which is really useful. Whatever means I want and then you say you want USDT, I put your address in there and it'll send it. So, you know, like these are all the cool little things that are, you know, really good. um with what we're doing there. Um >> I I think you just need to make lives easier, quicker, less friction. That's when you get adoption coming, you know, like they're the key things that you need to be sort of thinking when we're building these crypto applications or just finance applications, you know,

30:43 like what is the use case it is actually solving and how do you make that better than what's already out there. So yeah, these these are the things you need to be thinking >> change now. Um what do you wish more people understood about your product? >> Um but I think firstly it's for anyone. So you don't have to be a very experienced user or you don't have to be a non-experienced user to do that.

31:10 We understand everyone has different needs. That's going to be the key thing. So we we we have built it understanding that you know I think the key thing is you can have 10 separate crypto products behind 10 tabs. You just need to make sure what is there and that's what we've built. You're not moving around different ecosystems and it's very confusing.

31:36 It's all under one plates there and that's what's that's what's making this super app. And again it's what you have the creams and you have the Ubers and all all the other stuff there. you're putting it in one place and then giving the users the options to do whatever works for them. >> Mhm. And then um you know thinking about what success looks like for change now over the next three or so years because you guys have come quite a long way.

32:00 You know like you said you're the backend infrastructure for for certain things. But yeah, I I was going to say like, you know, success, I'd love every wallet to integrate us and have us there. You know, that's always very, you know, it's a personal thing. So then, you know, every in my day-to-day life, I'm I'm running it through there cuz they they see the benefits through that for the the different routes that we have cuz think as a as a as a user, you know, the wallet, that front end is what you're seeing.

32:32 you never see the plumbing and you don't want to be seeing the plumbing. You just want to be doing using it there. Honestly, the way I pick up my phone and I just use an Uber because it's the most easiest convenient way to do that. Obviously, other ride sharing apps are available. Um, that's what I would love people to be doing with change now. You know, like doing their swaps, do it through change now, you know, like pay, save, exchange, all of those is what you're doing there.

32:58 you know, people wanting to get cash back on swaps, you know, that's just the play. It's just that habit, that habit forming of what that is. I think that's going to be the key thing. >> I love it. That was going to be, >> you know, it seems like an answer to one of my final questions was it was going to was a crypto account become useful enough to become part of somebody's normal financial routine.

33:19 But it sounds like, >> yeah, I think I've already answered. We we can have a little chat. Where do you think the where do you think the market's going and the crypto world is going? Do you think we're getting new use cases coming forward? >> I think people are just going to get way more financial. What used to just be for, you know, the uh Tradfi or um you know, you had to get a broker to do certain things.

33:43 Now it's going to be so easy to do it through the app. So, everybody is going to be trading stocks or, you know, getting yield on their stable coins or whatever it is. And it just needs to become so normal. And you know the the problem is you know we need to get the button clicks down and the ease of use down and obviously some awareness and you know learning is going to come with any new technology but you know like you were saying where it's just part of the habit to pull it up like an Uber and you know do your thing.

34:08 >> Yeah. And I and I think we're very lucky living in the western world we we have access to a lot of these financial tools even though we are there's certain tools we don't have access to that you know bigger industries do. That's what we've seen, you know, like there's a lot more of a democratization of that. But again, other developing countries, you know, people don't have access to bank accounts.

34:33 People struggle to send money for remittance or send and receive that stuff. This is the stuff that really crypto can solve. And we see it all the time. you know like a lot of developing countries they're they're receiving in USDT or Bitcoin or or stabler currencies than their own um ways of their own you know for them that is the way of life and um we also need to build products for those guys as well because that's a huge market that really need it you know like that's the that's the key thing you know maybe me

35:07 sending you USDT isn't as vital as someone sending remittance back home where they have no way to pick up those remittance. You know, they don't have ID, they don't have a bank account. You know, they have no means to send it or or spend it. You know, these are amazing things that um you know, sometimes get a bit overlooked when we think about that.

35:26 But the tools are getting there. I think may maybe you'll back me up on this or maybe you you you'll shoot me down with your experience. I think some of the problems the crypto as an industry have is they sell the vision before it's built. of course and then people get people get really frustrated that it's not already there you know and there's been amazing technology that's sort of been spoken about you know like what NFTs could have been doing and how it can be done so much of that was sold five six years ago and I

35:56 think maybe now or even now the full potential of that ownership isn't there and I think it's a it's a shame in a way that crypto because you have the tokens as well you know people put so much pressure on so much of this stuff that um you can't build a products without this attention. And um hopefully that sort of changes. Um I don't know if you feel with the altcoins yourself, there's been a lot less attention on a lot more of these altcoins.

36:26 So people actually now just building and actually building products. That's going to be key real purpose for that stuff. So um yeah, you know, that's what really excites me and I really feel we are in this wave when people are sort of saying the super cycle. I feel as as we spoke at the beginning, I think we spoke online about that where people are actually really building and it's coming true.

36:47 >> These are the key bits that we want to be like pushing and getting excited about. >> And for the altcoin daily audience, if you're looking for that next um you know, product of the future, the super app, check out change now. I'm going to leave links down below. Uh, Martin, thank you so much for >> Could you could even follow me on X or LinkedIn or um your other means of social media, you know, like cheers cheers for the plug on that, mate.

37:16 >> I'd love to follow you. I already follow now. I got to find you. >> Uh, Mass from Crypto, follow me there on X now, you know, like anything. It's It's worth being on this for half an hour just to get a follow on X. >> Hell yeah. Now, everybody should follow Martin. >> Yeah. Look again like I what what I try to do is you know people follow if you DM or you talk you know please give me feedback give me what you like what you don't like you know like I love to take all take all of this on board think of me as your

37:42 concurge for change now in crypto you know like that's the key bit there you know the amount of times from when I was at Tom when I was at stofi when I was here you know you get that product feedback that's crucial so please do that you know I'm very open and receptive and can do it in a funny way. I'm I'm I'm not too mean a person. Um I'm British so I've got a bit of that sense of humor.

38:05 So yeah, please do that. >> And I was always going to give you final thoughts, Martin. If there is, you know, please feel free to give us a final call to action for change now, how people can get involved today or you know what you expect going forward in crypto. Could be anything. What what you're up to next, but please final thoughts. Martin, >> uh I'm on the event circuit, so obviously you know feel free to come up me there.

38:26 Um, but again, if you're a power user, which I'm assuming your audience are, you know, it's worth just even looking for the benefits of the cash back on swaps, reduce fees, you know, I don't need to do a sales pitch because it sells itself. So, uh, may maybe use change now and you don't even know you are using it, but it's great to have a range that really grateful.

38:47 Honestly, this is the thing about our industry. Seven, eight years ago, I would have dreamt to be speaking to you on your show, like watching what you were doing, coming at Ivan on Tech. You know, I feel it's kind of come full circle. You know, I've worked my way up. Um, I've I've gone to events. I've done all of this stuff. I've managed to get it here and like sort of appearing on the show like it it's a it's a great honor.

39:09 So, you know, honestly, thank and you you do a lot for the industry. You put a lot of the hours in. You know, you stay up. You you don't disappear when it's been a bare market, which I know a lot of people do. you know, you go out there, your videos are good. I need to find this video of you with Ivan and Tekken the video falling, but you know, like you've done great.

39:24 You know, you're one of the OGs really stuck around. Um, so yeah, no, thank you for me. Um, it's been a great honor and I can't believe probably through all the co times when I was sitting in a very small room in a very small place watching your videos, I've come full circle speaking to you in your kitchen. So, yeah, amazing. >> Hell yeah, that is great to hear, man. And yeah, happy to be opposite you right now. Thanks so much for coming on today, Martin. Absolutely star, mate.
