Amane is a Rust library and CLI for building Wayland desktop shells such as bars, panels, and launchers in plain Rust. Shell code lives in a configurable Rust source file, and `amane dev` builds, starts, and rebuilds the shell on saves while keeping the previous shell running if a build fails; separate commands compile, run, and clean the build output. It provides layout, widgets, input, animation, and built-in services for audio, network, Bluetooth, notifications, and workspaces. Amane requires a Wayland compositor supporting wlr-layer-shell, such as niri, Hyprland, or Sway, and is described by its repository as early and experimental.

A Rust library for building your own Wayland desktop shell — bars, panels, and launchers are plain Rust code living in one main.rs file, hot-reloaded as you edit. Audio, network, Bluetooth, notifications, and workspaces are built-in services; runs on any compositor with wlr-layer-shell.
