Apache Airflow is an open-source platform created by the community to programmatically author, schedule, and monitor workflows. Workflows are defined as Python pipelines, commonly represented as directed acyclic graphs (DAGs), with Python features such as loops and date-time scheduling used to generate tasks dynamically. Its modular architecture uses a message queue to coordinate workers, while a web application provides workflow management, task status, and logs. Airflow includes extensible operators and integrations for services including Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure, and can be used for data transfers, infrastructure management, and machine-learning pipelines.
