backup-maker is a self-hosted, local-network backup application that mirrors selected folders in real time to multiple destinations, including internal or external drives, SD cards, router-attached USB storage, NAS devices, and shared folders on other computers. It installs only on the computer being backed up; destination systems require no software or accounts. Backups are incremental and versioned, with file history and scheduled AES-256-encrypted snapshots.
An optional second backup-maker installation enables block-level, verified delta synchronization between computers running different operating systems. The project is distributed as a self-contained binary for Linux, Windows, and macOS, with no cloud service, off-site mode, telemetry, or required internet connection. Its dashboard listens on localhost, while update checks and webhook or ntfy alerts are optional.
