CLODEx

Codex-X is a cross-platform desktop management tool for OpenAI Codex Desktop and Codex CLI. It provides a visual interface for managing prompt templates, switching between official login profiles and third-party API providers, organizing and repairing local sessions, managing Skills and MCP servers, and inspecting or editing Codex TOML and JSON configuration files. The application can import or edit Markdown prompts, append or replace existing prompt content with automatic backups, test provider endpoints and discover models, import providers from cc-switch, group sessions by project, detect or repair provider inconsistencies, and permanently delete selected sessions from Codex storage. It also previews MCP servers, installs Skills from ZIP files, enables or disables individual extensions, tracks local token usage by date and model, and attributes subagent usage to its main conversation. Codex-X is built as a Tauri 2 desktop application with a React, TypeScript, and Vite frontend, a Rust backend, and SQLite local storage. It provides macOS, Windows, and Linux packages, including Windows portable distribution, and is released under the MIT License.

Munder Difflin is a free, open-source desktop multi-agent harness that runs multiple terminal-based AI coding agents as coordinated local agents. It wraps agents including Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI, Qwen, OpenCode, GitHub Copilot CLI, and custom commands, working with users' existing subscriptions and hourly usage limits. Each agent runs as a real node-pty process and is rendered through xterm.js, while an Electron and React interface displays sessions as avatars on a Pixi.js office floor. A GOD orchestrator called Michael assigns and routes work, adjudicates agent messages, and escalates spending, destructive operations, scope changes, and other configured approvals. Agents coordinate through a local Git-backed hive of plain-file memory, atomic mailboxes, a shared blackboard, and an append-only event log; a markdown-first semantic memory layer supports recall across sessions. Optional Git worktrees isolate parallel agents.

OpenClaude is an open-source, terminal-first coding-agent CLI for cloud and local model providers. It connects to OpenAI-compatible APIs, Gemini, GitHub Models, Codex, Ollama, Atomic Chat, and other supported backends, providing prompts, streaming output, Bash and file tools, grep, glob, agents, tasks, MCP, slash commands, web search and fetch, and image inputs for compatible providers. The CLI supports guided provider setup with saved profiles, conversation continuation and forking, detached local background sessions, model-specific agent routing, repository maps based on PageRank-ranked code structure, and a headless bidirectional-streaming gRPC server for integrations, CI/CD pipelines, and custom interfaces. A bundled VS Code extension provides launch integration, in-editor chat, provider-aware controls, and theme support. OpenClaude runs on Node.js 22 or newer, is distributed through npm and an Arch Linux AUR package, and can use local inference or remote APIs. Its repository is licensed MIT for the project's modifications and states that it is an independent community project derived from and substantially modified from the Claude Code codebase, without Anthropic affiliation.

Multi-Agent Workbench is a local-first browser control room for orchestrating coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, and generic PTY-based command-line agents. Agents work in task rooms under editable YAML role cards that define permissions, speaking style, and decision boundaries; a rule-driven orchestrator pauses execution and risky commands for human approval, while persistent sessions expose terminal activity and status. The system uses a local event-driven architecture with a React interface, Fastify backend, REST API, server-sent events, agent adapters, an approval service, and a SQLite event store. Every action passes through the API and is recorded in an append-only event log, whose events are projected into timelines, decisions, terminal views, artifacts, and diff views. It also provides task templates, Markdown reports and decision logs, real-time room updates, and configurable risk resolutions. Code-writing agents are intended to use isolated Git worktrees, with diff and patch review before changes reach the main workspace; the repository marks this worktree and merge flow as in progress.

Open Interpreter is a command-line coding agent optimized for open and low-cost models. It is a fork of OpenAI's Codex focused on emulating provider-specific agent harnesses; its Rust-native harnesses can be switched with `/harness`, while providers and models can be changed from its terminal interface. It supports native sandboxing on macOS, Linux, and Windows, MCP, skills, hooks, permissions, AGENTS.md instructions, and local configuration and session state under `~/.openinterpreter`. The agent can run as an Agent Client Protocol agent for compatible editors, speak the Codex exec protocol, and provide a one-line binary override for applications using the Codex SDK. Its built-in QA skill can test web applications through a real browser and native applications through trycua. The project is distributed for macOS, Linux, and Windows through shell or PowerShell installation commands and uses shared agent directories and protocols where available.
