Cluster Lifecycle Operator (CLO)

Cluster API is an open-source Kubernetes subproject focused on declarative APIs and tooling for provisioning, upgrading, and operating multiple Kubernetes clusters. Developed by the Kubernetes SIG Cluster Lifecycle, it uses Kubernetes-style APIs and patterns to define cluster configuration and supporting infrastructure—including virtual machines, networks, load balancers, and VPCs—for consistent, repeatable deployments. Providers extend it to infrastructure platforms such as AWS, Azure, and vSphere, while kubeadm is provided as a built-in bootstrap and control-plane provider.

CLODEx is an open-source, local-first, zero-trust agentic IDE for long-running software engineering work. It maintains durable tasks with searchable history, workspace-aware context, restart recovery, and continued work across sessions, combining code editing, pending edits, line-level diffs, Git and worktrees, persistent terminal sessions, embedded browsing, screenshots, models, and MCP tools in one desktop workspace. Sensitive actions can require explicit approval and remain reviewable; its governing principle is that model output is input, not authority. CLODEx supports account-backed models, bring-your-own provider keys, compatible endpoints, and local Ollama models, and is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

vCluster is a Kubernetes tenant-cluster platform developed by Loft. It creates isolated virtual Kubernetes environments on top of an existing control-plane cluster or on dedicated infrastructure and bare metal; each tenant cluster has its own API server, custom resource definitions, and role-based access control, providing a cluster experience intended to resemble dedicated Kubernetes. vCluster can be installed and operated through its CLI and kubectl, and also supports running locally through its Docker driver. The project is a CNCF Certified Kubernetes distribution and is positioned for multi-tenancy, managed Kubernetes, and AI infrastructure workloads.

KCL is an open-source, constraint-based record and functional language for generating and managing configuration, including cloud-native and Kubernetes resources. It uses schemas, static types, constraints, rules, and isolated configuration blocks to model, validate, mutate, and organize configuration while reducing boilerplate; it can generate JSON and YAML or integrate with existing data. KCL supports configuration tooling such as formatting, linting, testing, documentation, package management, IDE extensions, and SDKs for several languages, and integrates with Kubernetes through tools including the Kubectl, Kustomize, Helm, and Crossplane KCL plugins. In Crossplane workflows, it can be used to develop composition functions as independent executable source code before embedding them into YAML at build time. The project is a CNCF Sandbox project and its implementation uses Rust and C, with support for native-code and WebAssembly compilation.

AutoClusters is a Crusoe Cloud Kubernetes add-on for detecting and remediating hardware failures in GPU cluster workloads. It continuously monitors nodes for configured hardware errors; when a failure is detected, it can gracefully terminate workloads, restart or replace the unhealthy node, and reschedule pods on a healthy node. In Crusoe's Managed Slurm workflow, the remediation flow drains and replaces a failed node, requeues Slurm jobs, and allows checkpointed training to resume without manual intervention. Remediation is configured per issue type, including GPU and interconnect errors, with actions of REPLACE_NODE or OFF; all remediation actions default to OFF until explicitly enabled. Workloads can opt out with a pod label, and the documentation recommends preStop hooks so applications can save state before termination. Support is limited to specified Crusoe GPU instance types and compatible Crusoe Managed Kubernetes versions, and does not cover multi-tenant VM types where node replacement cannot be safely determined.
