Frametell

Frametell is a local-first desktop app and CLI from Sitor AI that turns an idea or source material— including notes, documents, PDFs, slides, images, and Markdown—into an explainer video. Its AI director converts the input into pages and story beats for approval or editing, writes the narration, generates a voiceover, draws each page using configurable styles and camera moves, checks pages with lint and screenshots, and performs a final video check before rendering a subtitled 1080p MP4. Rendering runs locally through Chrome, Edge, or Chromium, while model and voice services use the user's API keys; supported providers include Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, and compatible endpoints, with ElevenLabs or Volcengine TTS for voices. It is available as an Apple Silicon macOS app or from source, and is licensed under AGPL-3.0.

  • Turns your notes, PDFs, or a single idea into an animated explainer video. Its director agent drafts a storyboard for your approval, then writes narration, generates a voiceover, and builds animated pages you can request changes on before exporting a subtitled MP4. Rendering runs locally while model and voice services use your own API keys.
