NoteDiscovery is a lightweight, self-hosted knowledge-base and note-taking application developed by Gamosoft. It stores notes as plain Markdown files in folders on the user's server and provides search, navigation, graph views of connected notes, an outline panel, favorites, themes, plugins, LaTeX/MathJax, HTML export, printing, responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile interfaces, and an in-app drawing editor that saves sketches as PNG files alongside notes. The application serves its browser libraries locally without requiring a CDN, allowing operation on air-gapped networks. It can be deployed with optional password authentication and Docker, and includes a built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for compatible assistants such as Claude and Cursor. Through the MCP integration, assistants can search, create, edit, move, tag, and append to notes and explore connections between them.

Bare Browser is a de-Googled Chromium-based web browser for Android developed as a patch series rather than a fork. Its 99 patches remove Google tracking, telemetry, sign-in prompts, and AI integration while retaining desktop browser extensions, including Manifest V2 extensions such as uBlock Origin, Bitwarden, and Dark Reader. It adds background video playback, media saving from sites that normally block downloads, optional handoff to an external download manager, custom search-engine management, link handling that keeps supported links in the browser, and Android video behavior including H.264/AAC support and rotation-lock-aware fullscreen. DuckDuckGo is the default search engine, and the project documents two network connections that remain outside the browser's direct control. The repository states that Bare is not affiliated with Google or the Chromium project.

Bento is an open-source PowerPoint alternative and office suite distributed as a single HTML file. Each deck contains its own viewer, presenter, editor, fonts, images, charts, animations, and readable JSON document data, so it can be opened, edited, presented, and shared in a modern browser without an account, installer, or network connection. The editor rewrites the deck's data block when saving, using the File System Access API with a download fallback. Optional collaboration uses end-to-end encryption with AES-GCM, a CRDT for merging offline edits including character-level text changes, and a relay that stores ciphertext rather than document contents; Offline mode blocks synchronization and collaboration.

GenOffice is a free, open-source AI office suite from Genspark AI for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It consists of six Electron applications sharing an engine layer: Docs for .docx files, Sheets for .xlsx spreadsheets, Slides for .pptx presentations, PDF for viewing and editing PDFs, Markdown for plain Markdown files, and a shell application that hosts the editors. It opens and saves Microsoft Office formats, and includes light, dark, and system themes. Its AI panel supports document-aware, block-level edits with version snapshots and diffs; in spreadsheets, presentations, and PDFs it provides a tool-calling agent over document state. Built-in tools include web search, image search, image generation, and media analysis. Users can sign in through Genspark or supply their own keys for providers including Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM, Qwen, Doubao, MiniMax, Grok, Mistral, and OpenRouter, as well as custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints and local servers. GenOffice Docs uses byte-preserving .docx editing in which only modified paragraphs are regenerated, with Word-compatible pagination, tracked changes, comments, styles, equations, and ink. GenOffice Sheets uses the open-source Univer core with in-house extensions and a Rust .xlsx import/export sidecar, plus charts, pivot tables, slicers, conditional formatting, and formula tracing. GenOffice Slides has an in-house .pptx parsing, rendering, and editing engine with masters, layouts, charts, cropping, ink, and text shaping. GenOffice PDF supports annotations, forms, outlines, stamps, signatures, page operations, printing, direct text reflow and image editing, and local conversion to editable Word, PowerPoint, or Excel files; scanned PDFs can use system OCR on macOS and Windows. GenOffice Markdown is a Tiptap block editor that saves headings, lists, tables, images, and code blocks back to plain Markdown. The suite is distributed under the Apache-2.0 license with installers for the three supported desktop platforms.

anydoc is an open-source Rust library from Firecrawl that converts Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenDocument, RTF, EPUB, CSV, and PDF files into GitHub-Flavored Markdown. It uses a shared document model and provides Node.js, Python, browser WebAssembly, and Rust interfaces, along with a command-line interface that reads files or standard input and writes Markdown to standard output or a file. The library can return either Markdown or its intermediate document model, which carries embedded assets. A browser demo runs the WebAssembly build locally, while hosted OCR through Firecrawl Parse can process scanned PDF pages that anydoc cannot read by itself. It is also distributed as an agent skill compatible with agent tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode.
