hntui is a terminal user interface for browsing Hacker News. It retrieves data from the public Hacker News Firebase API and provides the Top, New, Best, Ask, Show, Jobs, and Saved feeds, with story comments, article links, and browser opening. Navigation supports Vim-style keys and mouse input; comment threads can be collapsed, posts can be saved locally in a JSON file, and the interface includes dark and light themes.
It runs in modern true-color terminals with UTF-8 and mouse support. The project distributes dependency-free binaries for macOS and Linux and can also be installed or run through Bun and npm. It is released under the MIT license.
