Tinta is a battery-powered e-paper sign built around the Raspberry Pi Pico W. A real-time clock wakes the device on schedule; it retrieves data over Wi-Fi, redraws the display, and switches the hardware off completely rather than using sleep mode. A push button or optional NFC tag can also trigger a wake-up, allowing uses such as room signage, sensor graphs, home automation, weather data, and desk booking. The repository contains Pico W firmware in C, a custom KiCad PCB, a 3D-printable enclosure, and an optional Python/Flask telemetry service. The PCB includes the real-time clock, MOSFET power switching, battery monitoring, and optional NFC hardware; the e-paper retains its image while the device is powered off. Firmware supports OTA update slots and documented use cases including Seatsurfing, CCU-Historian, Homematic, and weather data, and can also run on an unmodified Pico W with the display disabled. The hardware is licensed under CERN-OHL-S-2.0, while original firmware is licensed under Apache License 2.0. The project was formerly published as inki.

M5Stack is a modular hardware and open-source software platform for IoT prototyping and deployment. Its standard 5 × 5 cm system uses stackable functional modules built around an ESP32 microcontroller, with features including a microSD card slot, USB-C port, and expansion connectors. M5Stack also provides multifunctional base modules and ODM services for projects ranging from prototypes to mass production. In the cited video, M5Stack hardware is used by VibeWatch as a smartwatch interface for controlling multiple AI coding agents.

ESP32 Bit Pirate is open-source ESP32-S3 firmware that turns supported development boards into multi-protocol hardware development and analysis tools, inspired by the Bus Pirate. It provides a command-line interface over USB serial or Wi-Fi web serial for sniffing, sending, testing, and scripting wired protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, 1-Wire, CAN, GPIO, JTAG, and USB, as well as wireless technologies including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Sub-GHz, RFID, infrared, LoRa, and FM. The firmware includes protocol-specific tools such as EEPROM and flash access, UART bridges, device scanning, signal recording and replay, radio analysis, PWM and direct I/O control, and Bus Pirate-style bytecode or Python scripting. The project supports several ESP32-S3-based boards, including ESP32-S3 Dev Kits, M5Stack devices, and LILYGO boards, and provides web tools, hardware guides, recipes, and documentation through its project website.

Home Assistant ESP Screens is an MIT-licensed firmware and Home Assistant add-on for turning supported ESP32 touchscreen panels into configurable control screens. It supports the 2.8-inch CYD and 4-inch Guition panels, with tiles for lights, climate, blinds and curtains, vacuums, media, weather, history graphs, cameras, clocks, and timers. The ESP Screen Manager app runs inside Home Assistant. Users select entities and actions, arrange tiles by dragging them across pages, and save the layout to the screen without writing YAML, using MQTT, or manually reflashing for ordinary changes. The app builds and installs firmware over USB, sends updates over Wi-Fi, and can update screens through OTA; the firmware uses LVGL and communicates with Home Assistant through ESPHome. Screens can also display alerts, camera images on supported Guition hardware, dark mode, brightness, standby, night-hour settings, and automation-controlled actions.
