OpenSend is a self-hosted transactional and marketing email platform built on Amazon SES for sending transactional mail, newsletters, and campaigns. It provides a dashboard, a TypeScript SDK distributed as the `opensend-js` npm package, and an MCP server over one public API; the video also describes send simulation and delivery-status logs. The project supports Docker or Cloudflare deployment, uses Google-only sign-in, keeps API-secret setup out of the browser, and recommends starting with simulated sending before provisioning infrastructure or sending real email.

BlueFerry is experimental Linux software that connects a paired iPhone to a Linux desktop over Bluetooth, without a Mac relay, Apple login, cloud service, or subscription. It provides native GTK, KDE/Kirigami, Quickshell, and terminal clients for reading and sending SMS, RCS, and iMessage, starting conversations, syncing contacts, marking messages read, and optionally mirroring other iPhone notifications. Local message history can be encrypted with GNOME Keyring or KDE Wallet. It only receives messages observed while connected and does not download an iCloud Messages archive. Attachments, reactions, typing indicators, FaceTime, calls, and complete sent-message history are unsupported; group replies are disabled or require confirmation when Bluetooth does not provide enough participant information. The project distributes native packages for several Linux distributions and warns that changes to iPhone Bluetooth behavior could affect compatibility.

croc is a command-line tool for transferring files and directories between computers using a short code phrase rather than manually configuring SSH servers, firewalls, keys, or IP addresses. It uses peer-to-peer connections with relay fallback and end-to-end encryption based on PAKE, supports resumable and multiple transfers, and does not require a local server or port forwarding. The tool supports Windows, Linux, macOS, and browser clients, can use proxies such as Tor, and allows custom relay servers.

Portless is a command-line development proxy that replaces numbered localhost ports with stable, named local URLs such as https://myapp.localhost. It runs an application command, assigns the child process an available port through the PORT environment variable, registers the app with an HTTP/2 HTTPS proxy, and routes requests from the named hostname to that process. It can infer and run package.json development scripts, inject port and host flags for frameworks that do not honor PORT, manage multiple workspace packages, and register aliases or subdomains. The proxy supports custom TLDs, local certificate generation and trust, WebSockets, LAN access through mDNS, startup services, and optional sharing through Tailscale or ngrok. Portless is distributed as an npm package for macOS, Linux, and Windows and is pre-1.0.

OpenDisplay is a free, open-source second-monitor system for extending a Mac desktop to an iPhone, iPad, or another Mac over USB or Wi-Fi. It provides a true extended display rather than only mirroring, with Retina/HiDPI output, portrait or landscape orientation, touch and two-finger scroll input, and support for multiple connected devices. The Mac sender creates a virtual display with macOS's CGVirtualDisplay API, captures it with ScreenCaptureKit, hardware-encodes the frames as real-time H.264 using VideoToolbox, and sends them over a TCP connection. The receiving iOS or iPadOS app decodes the stream with AVSampleBufferDisplayLayer and sends touch and scroll control messages back for CGEvent injection. USB connections use macOS's built-in usbmuxd; Wi-Fi discovery uses Bonjour. A separate OpenDisplay Receiver app can turn a spare Mac into the display instead. The project is self-hosted and does not require an account or server connection for display streaming. The Mac sender requires macOS 14 or newer, while the spare-Mac receiver supports macOS 12 or newer; the official mobile receiver targets iOS/iPadOS 16 or newer. It is distributed under GPL-3.0, and its reliance on the private CGVirtualDisplay API prevents App Store distribution and may create compatibility risks across macOS updates.
