Lucius

Lucius is a self-hosted web dashboard for running custom shell commands on a Linux machine from a phone or browser without opening an SSH session or terminal. It presents commands as mobile-friendly action cards, supports adding, editing, deleting, and reordering commands, and streams output line by line through WebSockets.

Overview

The application provides PIN authentication, a strict command whitelist, execution history with logs, PWA installation for a phone home screen, custom server labels, and light/dark themes. It runs as a Python/FastAPI service under systemd on Linux distributions including Raspberry Pi OS and other systemd-based systems, with scripts for installation, updating, and removal. The project describes Lucius as intended for trusted local networks and advises using additional protection such as a reverse proxy before exposing it to the public internet.
