Mayoi

Mayoi is a small code editor written in Go by sorrycc. It renders a native user interface directly on the GPU, without a webview or Electron, and provides tabs, columns, syntax highlighting, file navigation, search, Markdown and SVG previews, Vim modes, and a command palette. Its Git interface supports staging, commits, branches, blame, commit graphs, and gutter-based staging or reverting of individual changes. A built-in terminal uses Ghostty's libghostty-vt emulator. Remote SSH opens folders on another machine using the system SSH client; the remote host runs the Explorer, search, Git, and terminals while ports are forwarded locally. Mayoi supports macOS 13 or later and Linux with GTK 3, also builds for Windows, and is licensed under the MIT License.

  • A code editor written in Go that draws its interface directly on the GPU. You can split files into columns, edit with Vim motions, stage individual changes from the gutter, and use a built-in terminal with Ghostty's emulator; its remote SSH mode runs the file explorer, Git, and Search on the remote host with nothing extra installed there.
