MusicFree is a plugin-based, customizable, ad-free music player for Android and HarmonyOS. It does not include built-in music sources; plugins provide searching for music, albums, and artists, playback, album and artist views, single and playlist imports, and lyrics retrieval. The player handles functions such as pagination and caching while plugins implement the source-specific input and output logic.
MusicFree stores data locally and supports light and dark themes, custom backgrounds, and associating lyrics between songs. Plugins are CommonJS modules that can be installed locally or from the network, including JavaScript files and JSON descriptions. The project is open source under the AGPL-3.0 license and warns that third-party plugins may contain security or copyright-related risks.
