PostGIS

PostGIS is an extension for PostgreSQL that adds storage, indexing, and querying of geospatial data. It supports spatial data such as points, lines, polygons, multi-geometries, and raster data in 2D and 3D, with spatial indexes for location-based retrieval and functions for measuring distances and areas, intersecting and buffering geometries, geocoding and reverse geocoding, and processing or converting geometries. It can be used with tools including QGIS, GeoServer, MapServer, ArcGIS, and Tableau.
